Steve has had a similar experience so he can understand her perspective and the way she reacted.

I’m very happy that Steve shared his story. I was assaulted by two priest over a period of two years from age 10-12. When I got the courage to report it to the Monsignor of the church/school I was threatened and told to stop lying and trying to get attention. As I became an adult I tried to use humor to mitigate the damage to my psyche but in the end there’s no getting past it. You learn to kinda ‘curve’ around it in life but even though it was thirty plus years ago shit like that just stays with you and changes your personality. For me, and this is just my experience, the key was accepting it wasn’t my fault and drawing strength from it. I’ve never shared this before but Steve really allowed me to open up to maybe help someone else🙂

Idk how this should even be handled and I apologize if any of this sounds inconsiderate because I honestly don’t know what or how to convey to you so you do not feel the way you do anymore. I wish you the best and hope you will be ok one day and you better!

It's not an easy thing for Steve to do and I think that is very brave and especially honorable to say "Its obviously not like what happened to her but I was basically sexually assaulted tho"not even to think that situation is as severe in comparison I believe is honorable because he wanted to make it clear that he doesn't want attention or anything. Idk though that was cool that Steve shared that and cool how modest he was about it. Love you, Steve, I'm sorry that happened.

Allen Silva you see the thing is...it shouldn't be a joke when you're in front of the victim. What Bart said is really distasteful and he wasn't saying that shit to be funny he genuinely thinks that way and its harmful. I understand jokes about dark subject matters but that was him stating his thoughts and dismissing a traumatic event Steve went through.
@kmfdmstein86007 жыл бұрын
Allen Silva Dude, I know the difference between a joke and a statement. Bart said he would feel flattered, dismissing Steve who clearly expressed several times that he didn't and that it was a very uncomfortable moment in his life that HE jokes about to deal with it not others. That doesn't give other people the right to poke fun or act like it was nothing. A comedian makes jokes out of their own experiences and Bart wasn't trying to be a comedian when he was being dead serious. It's real shitty of you to go "oh it was nothing something similiar happened to me and I felt flattered" that's you and you can't speak for the majority of people who had these experiences. I had a worse experience than Steve's but that doesn't mean i'm going to act like what he went through was nothing. It's what he feels not and what other people feel for him. Someone invading your area without consent is sexual harassment no matter how you want to make it out to be. You can't tell a victim of any type of assault or abuse that what they went through is nothing because you aren't them. Not every human copes or reacts the same way.

Johnathan Roan Being beat up isn’t the same as being raped, though. Yes, they are both violent crimes, but they are not equal. With getting beat up there’s just anger and physical abuse. Rape is beyond degrading and is both physical and emotional abuse. This is definitely not an equivalent example, but try to think about it like this: There are two murders. In one, one person shoots another in the chest and the second person bleeds out and dies. In the second murder, someone is kidnapped, starved, and tortured, and eventually died of asphyxiation. They’re both murders, but one is definitely more traumatic than the other.
@rockey13gt7 жыл бұрын
Johnathan Roan the damage rape causes to someone is mainly psychological not physical, because it's the equivalent of being reduced from human to a sex toy someone else can use to get off.
@slimeb0y_7 жыл бұрын
Johnathan Roan a rape victim will still have the same mental trauma they would receive either if they're raped at 18+ or when it's raped as a child. It's a trauma that follows the victim psychologically no matter what. If you can't understand why it would traumatize a grown woman, then can you at least try to see why it'd be traumatizing for people who have been violated at young ages of 5? 7? Even if you were to say "oh but they were raped at a young age, that's obviously worse than a grown person being raped", that's still fucked up. It doesn't matter what age or maturity or mentality you have prior to being raped, being raped is a feeling of your respect being violated, your personal and private areas being violated, it's generally just an incredible worst way of violating someone, especially because it's against their will and making them feel powerless and controlled. Only way I can understand why you think the way your comment shows us, is that you are completely ignorant and oblivious to how the human psychological aspect truly works. You're obviously very young and have not had much time of growth to really be so blind to what psychological trauma truly is.

bubbleburster7 I compare being raped to someone beating the shit out of you so what I don’t understand is: if a woman gets raped and walks away from it unharmed and I walk away from getting the crap beat out of me, how does she end up being the one emotionally damaged when she’s actually fine? If I can suck it up after unwanted contact and harm then women can suck up having sex when they don’t want to. At least when they walk away without a scratch on them. If I were next to someone and they broke out crying and the reason why is because she just realized she was raped then I would think “But you’re fine so why are you crying about it 2 weeks later. Can’t be something worth crying over if you had a 2 week late reaction to it.” In this case that lady was upset from the get go but I still don’t understand the heartbreak. There’s nothing special about sexual organs except for the fact that we hide them all the time so logically speaking Bart’s correct when he says there isn’t much of a difference between touching a shoulder or a dick. If that’s the case then what makes rape mentally harmful? I can understand if your body was harmed in the process and that pissed you off but can’t get behind the emotional side. Either humans are a lot weaker than we think and we are in denial of that or something just doesn’t make sense in our brains. I realized something really messed up about when I was a child and then I looked at my life now and said “I’m good” and moved on with life. I was 14 when I realized it and my logic was if I don’t have a problem now then it was no big deal then. It’s as simple as that but people love to wine for help when the don’t need it. This is the sad defenseless and hopeless world we live in now. Instead of protecting ourselves people want someone to do it for them. And that’s never going to work.

Johnathan Roan. If a woman gets raped, How can she walk away unharmed? Her vagina is sore, she is bleeding, she is bruised and beaten from the inside. You cannot see her pain because she is hiding how the perpetrator made her feel weak, useless and degraded her humanity by saying something along the lines of "it's your fault of why I am doing this." If you wanna talk about having emotion, Well here it is. Sadness, Loneliness, Memory loss, Depression, then after that becomes anger, resentment, a cold damn heart which has become yours. Do you think a 5 year old can forget being raped? The youngest mother in the world was 5 and she gave birth to that child... Your gonna blame them (the victim)? You have no empathy, compassion or some kind of benevolence to your humanity. You need to see an therapist or someone to determine your not a sociopath because of how much you have commented and repeated yourself through numerous reply's means your not getting the attention you need. You are ignoring what happened to you at 14 which is why you felt the need to comment. I felt the need because you seriously need help and you seeking attention online where you can find no sympathy or help. You lost a part of your sensitivity and I pity you. Upon the mentality part, well if you would let it all back in you may actually feel something, like the need to hide it, not talk about it or would rather forget. Yea buddy that is what makes you human. Emotion. Jackass. Sincerely, fuck you. You pissed everyone off who read that.

Steve was about to explain the second time he was sexually assaulted, but Bart intervened by saying he would've been honored to have had another man feeling up on him... Well, sure. There might be some people who are SUPER comfortable with people being touchy-touchy to almost being sexual. But there are others who'd rather not. I think most people would like to be ASKED before being touched in any way...but who am I to say. Lol...I don't know how Geo handles all the things Bart says and do.
@user-tz4jd9ul1y7 жыл бұрын
It’s the last comment really necessary ? “I️ don’t know how geo handles all the things Bart’s says and do”? I️ would say no. But you know what who cares You are just expressing honestly what you think Just like Bart was But then I️dk how you would criticize him lol I️ also think that communication and consent is key And I️ assume that everybody wants to be asked before you feeling them up But you said it yourself “Who am I️ to say” I️ am not saying it’s ok but you can’t deny that there are both guys and girls out there that currently see a feel as a move to make in order to see if the other person is interested Most guys that get feel up by a girl are happy even if she didn’t ask them first. Is it alright? No. Do I️ Believe people should stop doing that? yes. Is it Wrong? Personally, yes.illegal? Sure But I️ wouldn’t put it on the same category as rape It’s not so black and white as people want to make it seem and I️ think that is all that Bart was saying Or that’s what I️ got out of it. Even if I️ don’t agree with Bart Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t express whatever he is thinking That’s what most people like about jknews right? That they can talk honestly about issues Or with more honesty than most Without having to worry too much about not stepping on people’s toes And also they are friends Bart didn’t meant anything really harmful by it Although I️ don’t think there is anything wrong with people criticizing others ideas or comments for their content. I️ think it’s wrong when people criticize just people having the ability to make the comment Idk I️ think I️ am getting to invested in this KZbin video lol I️ also think there is a time and a place But this is hardly the only time the jkcrew hasn’t had a filter Including Steve, Gina and David I’m not saying people has not the right to feel how they feel towards what they say But at least be consistent with your outrage Also I️ know I️ replied to your comment but pls don’t take it completely personally it’s mostly directed to all the people saying how shocked they are at what Bart said

I criticized him because I personally wouldn't say something like that because I understand sexual harassment is a sensitive issue--not something you can just say "I'd be proud". But yes, they are friends. But again, they are using a public media outlet to express their views on topics. And like you have your own opinion, again, I have my own. I can tell the others(even in another recent video) know for sure he has been saying his thoughts out without filter...which in no way did I say he cannot do. I was also putting my feet in Geo's shoes and trying to understand if I can handle someone like Bart--and personally I wouldn't be able to. AGAIN, it's my opinion. Yes, you are kind of invested in this video and I feel you are very much so are hurt by my opinion. Lol.

Kimberly Her yeah I️ don’t think you got what I️ was saying at all Maybe the exclamation/question marks had something to do with it? I️ can’t fix it and I️ just see the iPhone bug but I️ don’t know if that’s what you see too
@VnYtKcMHer7 жыл бұрын
I don't understand what you're trying to say about exclamations and question marks, but I think I got what you're trying to say in your first comment. You said that I'm 'not consistent with my 'outrage''. 'Outrage' to me, means I am very much offended to the point I am pissed off--but I'm not. I am taken aback and personally don't like it when people are interrupted. For a man like Steve to talk about being sexually harassed is rare and I was really focused on him telling his story when Bart intervened and said he would have liked it--and if I was there in that circle, I would have felt really bad for Steve because Bart belittled his sexual harassment experience as something to be 'proud' of. To me, JKnews is a way for the public and fans to get in on their conversations and get their opinions as if you were there as well--and that's what I'm doing. I'm watching and I'm commenting my opinion to what they are saying, even if it's not about the topic at hand. I'm a little confused because I did not say anything about their topic at hand right up front in my very first comment, but more about Steve talking and how Bart interrupted--so your middle paragraph about sexual harrasment being wrong had nothing to do with what I was specifically talking about. You also said I was inconsistent when you also are inconsistent as well. You talk say my last comment isn't really necessary, but also state that everyone has a write to express how they feel/say. Then tell me not to be upset because you're talking about everyone else. If you are upset with everyone, you could've written another post, but you decided to post on mine. If you had an issue with my comment, please just point out what you disagree with me and not what everyone else is saying because I am not keeping track of this post. I just so happen to see a notification. Since we don't see each other face to face, I thought I should write a detailed essay here (lol) so we can comprehend each other.

Johnathan Roan Your perception of rape/sexual assault is extremely skewed u can’t just compare it to something else it is what it is. And I know many people who are negatively effected by getting beat up so u can’t just write it off like that. Both are awful and shouldn’t happen. DavidSins TM What you're saying is right, but Bart didn't condone actual rape. There's a line between sexual advances and rape that he's trying to explain. But the current climate is that if a man should even look at you desirably or fail in trying to get with you, despite backing off after you express disinterest, that man is a sexual predator; that shouldn't be the case and Bart is expressing that viewpoint.

Tony Ravioli I’ve been watching for a while and I’m totally aware of their absurd style of comedy. Trust, I think they’re hilarious and I appreciate their style. Idk if this just feels different to me because it’s about sexual assault and I have more of an emotional response than I usually would have but I feel like in this video he was more nonchalant/normal about his point of view. But idk I could be tripping

Apparently, Timothy is also trying to break into the music industry. She also sadly is suffering from BPD, which can make her act out sometimes. her single has been out since october and so has the tweet (the date is in plain sight). And I completely understand her wanting to focus on something other than the rape accusation, it must be really hard to be constantly berated like that. I know I would want to focus on something else once something that stresses me out is out there and has been there. And not only that, Melanie confirmed the night did indeed happen, its just a matter of maybe Tim got the date wrong. Why did Melanie thank her fans for "checking dates to prove Tim was lying" when she herself confirmed it happened? Melanie keeps contradicting herself, more so than Tim has if you look at the facts.
@s2sHoXXs27 жыл бұрын
Oh, not to mention that two people have also stated that Tim's story fits with their experiences with Melanie's m.o. on trying to sleep with them. She berates them and wears them down until they either give in or just let it happen. Neither are ok. Im just sayin', when theres smoke theres usually fire. 😞

I adore JK news, but I will admit I was disappointed in how they reacted to Steve’s story of sexual assault. It is assault if it was not wanted and not welcomed. Bart’s situation may not have been him wanting a kiss on the cheek, but he welcomed (gladly accepted) it if he didn’t feel any discomfort afterwards. It is also rude to ask a victim (even a grown ass man) if he felt pleasure from an assault, after he clearly stated it was an assault. It should be obvious enough that he did not enjoy it. I hope some of you guys would reflect on your words and actions. I never comment on videos, but I feel strongly about this. I was raped by my ex-boyfriend, but he convinced me for a year that it was not rape because he called it drunk mistake. He forced himself on me on a bathroom floor, ignoring my crying face as I repeat “it hurts” during the rape. I passed out afterwards, he continued to party with other girls. I didn’t call it rape to anyone or even myself, because of how he reacted so calmly to it. It fucked me up for a long time.

I wanna ~esplain~ some things about this and touch on a few points some of the crew members mentioned (and elaborate on some they didnt). Get ready because it's pretty long. 1. Tim *did* actually go to her friends and family first. They were her support system and gave her the confidence to do what she wanted to do with this information. The reason why Timothy went public with this is because it is *VERY* hard to prove rape in this type of circumstance, let alone the fact that it happened years ago. Its pretty much impossible at this point. And also because there are a lot of young people (especially women) who really look up to her. If Melanie Did rape her, I wouldn't want people to look up to her either (and honestly, I do support Timothy on this. I'm not going around claiming it to be 100% fact but I can honestly say I'd rather believe a victim who turned out to be lying than to automatically turn my back on a genuine rape victim) WHEW ok, next point- 2. the tweet talking about her single has been pinned since mid october, well before the allegations came out. I cant say for certain but I heard Tim had her story pinned for a day or two but her october tweet is still pinned. Not only that but I think if I went through something as tough as that, I would try to focus on more positive things too (a music career, something to be proud of, etc.) 3. No one mentioned this but thats because Tif didnt mention it either. Two other girls came out in support for Timothy saying Melanie used the same/very similar tactics. Though one explicitly stated she doesnt feel she was raped, she said Melanie did eventually wear her down and convinced her to have sex with her. Even though it was concesnsual, berating and coercing is NEVER something someone should do if they want to have sex with someone. 4. Melanie thanked her fans for looking into the timline to prove Timothys accusation was false. “I want to thank my fans who took the time to research the timeline, analyze past Instagram photos, and question the story being told, which reveal her false statements.” Which is, im sorry ahem, *bullshit* because the only thing they proved us that the date was probably wrong (and like Geo said, dates get mixed up All The Time). Even Gina said Melanie could've posted photos at a later date. Even if the date is 100% wrong (NOT the issue here and you'll see why) Melanie outright *confirmed* that the night in question did happen. When she said Timothy "never said no". So it really seems like Melanie is reaching for anything at this point. Well, that's it for now. might add later but here's basic facts so far of what transpired (ie things you can actually look up and not question with fan blinders) If you still support Melanie for whatever reason, all i ask is that you spread positivity to HER instead of telling Timothy to go die, you heathens.

I did a similar thing when I was using humor as a coping mechanism. I used to tell stories about my dad on meth abusing me, but I’d try to make it sound funny. At the end I’d be laughing (while slowly dying on the inside) and my friends would get super concerned. I kinda used it as a way to tell everyone that I was hurting inside without say it explicitly. I felt like if I admitted to myself how hurt I was then I would completely break down.

@ilubnerds1027 жыл бұрын
There are so many reasons why people don't go to police. One can be that nothing even happens if it is report or it takes forever to process. Just because you report something doesn't mean it will be done right away. There are thousands of rape cases that are still unsolved after years. Also social media is so easy to use and express something with in seconds.
@dallonweekesmakesmedallonw27117 жыл бұрын
This was years ago and she really liked Melanie so she convinced herself that it was okay. Years later she’s now realized it was not right and at this point what’s the use of reporting it right? When things are taken to social media it raises awareness that our idols aren’t as perfect as we think. If it were more recent I would agree with you. That people should come out with these stories, but few do.
@sammimf90197 жыл бұрын
I'm glad Steve decided to share his story here. Personal stories spread awareness and especially awareness for male victims. Hopefully it will impact someone to open up and find some support/help. It's not the most comfortable thing to talk about especially when people are asking you "did you feel flattered?" And since Steve is a comedian he probably didn't want the uncomfortable feeling to escalate so he laughed politely. (not facts just my observation/opinion on my last sentence)
@iliketoast_59567 жыл бұрын
Things on both sides don't add up. Timothy could be stretching the truth to get attention for her music (which is really shitty btw, for people who actually went through this) and she told a vague side of her story. Melanie on the other hand, did imply something happened. Timothy could've gone through with it, and later regretted it, or she could be telling the truth or lying completely. I'm neutral on this subject, but unless Timothy involves the police and a proper investigation is made, I'm not inclined to either side.
@KpopLover4Ever7 жыл бұрын
Bart, sexual assault/molestation is an act of violence. The person is being violated, not complimented. No sane person would be flattered by it. Even your own wife was taken aback by your words; maybe it's time to fucking stop and reflect.

Melanie put the final nail in her coffin with that replying statement. Why did she dance around the phrase "I didn't do it/I did not rape Timothy"? She could have flat out said it. And again: just because Timothy didn't say no doesn't mean that she said yes. And Timothy's account is WAY too detailed to be just made up for publicity. It seems fishy. As someone who has been sexually assaulted, I don't even remember the date that it happened, just the month. I don't even think I WANT to. I'm not having some day be reserved as my assault anniversary. (Also! Instagram accounts can have scheduled posts thanks to some sites called hootsuite, so posts from NY could be months later OR if you're like me I don't post IG photos until months after lmao) But honestly in the end, I don't know who to really believe? There are a few holes in Timothy's statements, but Melanie's reply was just...REALLY poorly written and not direct, as if she was trying to twist the situation and avoid responsibility (which I've seen/experienced so many times with my ex-abuser). We don't know how celebrities act behind closed doors. Fame can change a person. We just don't know and honestly I don't think we ever will and that's rough for both sides. Edit: HOWEVER!! I am leaning heavily on Timothy's side bc her side more convincing than Melanie who seems to just be scrambling to save her own ass. I REALLY hated how Mel worded that statement and I honestly I'm not convinced. What I'm hoping they cover is what their former hair(makeup??) artist said about the both of them just being very high-maintenance and hard to work with. That's some REAL hot tea.

She was drugged and exhausted. Also admits to being codependent. People like that are afraid and let it happen, even sounds like Melanie previously mentally abused her with her talking about how she practically ignored her and her problems
@witchboltalice67407 жыл бұрын
Skittles, orange, and Snezzly bring very valid points. I'm heavily leaning on Timothy's side, the sad thing is that we're never going to TRULY know what happened (which is why a lot of rapists get away with what they did because half of the time it's accuser v defendant. ), but I'd rather take the victim's side and be wrong rather than support someone who turns out to be a rapist. No ma'am. Nuh-uh. That doesn't mean I'm going to send Death Threats to Mel or her defenders which I've seen both sides (which is really childish imo). And there's also a defense that sometimes happens in assault where your body freezes and you kind of go into a "wait till the danger passes/wait till it's over".

I believed this girl at first but after hearing that she tweeted that very first thing, it makes me skeptical about it. Its like she wanted suspense played onto it. Its like “i have a secret but i wont tell you” but yeah. It could be that they remembered things differently, miscommunication on both ends and they were drinking alcohol if im not mistaken so even more miscommunication. And they smoked weed i mean, if she was tired she should have just pushed her away. I dont wanna blame this girl but at the same time she should have known better? The miscommunication is just so big in this situation.

They werent drinking alcohal at all, the only thing they did was smoke weed. And you can consent to sex under the influence of weed aslong as you havnt consumed enough to be considered Physcially Helpless. "However, legal precedent suggest that you can consent to sex, after consuming weed or small amounts of alcohol. For example, many couples enjoy wine or cannabis together without the night disintegrating into sexual assault. According to Carrie Goldberg, Esq, founder of C.A. Goldberg, a New York City-based law firm that fights for survivors of sexual harassment and assault, "The issue is not so much what the substance is, but whether the quantity or impact is such that it can make a person mentally incapacitated or physically helpless." Also, the whole "she shouldve just pushed her away" thing is insensitive to sexual assault and rape survivors. (which i dont believe timothy is, i support mel 100%) People are to nervous or to afraid to push people away like that.

Quantum Witcher A lot of her songs romanticize mental issues and honestly her whole thing with her “childish” concept is just so weird...

I don't actually believe Timothy at all. It makes no sense about her story and if I was abused by my friend I wouldn't be able to dress up as her.

I stand by no one on this, we don't know for sure what happen or if Timothy actually consented and then regret it later tbh
