MOON CYCLE is the tenth song on Melanie's new album called "PORTALS", and it was officially released on March 31st 2023. The song talks about the stereotypes of women during their menstruation. Popular media portrays woman to be weak on their menstruation, but Melanie proves them otherwise. Also, the lyrics "Baby boy, you know I'm on my period" is her calling out Oliver Tree, her past lover. Oliver Tree has a song called revival, and there are lyrics saying "I'm angry and bloody like a bitch on her period". Her lyrics "Matter of fact, right now, I could build a pyramid" is also a reference to his song revival, having lyrics saying "Stacking shit, like each brick on a pyramid"
