I don’t remember my birthday parties but the earliest one i remember was when I was in 7th grade, turning 13 (I think lol) as an army brat at a very young age, friends were hard to keep and remember. But I moved one last time to Texas and actually made friends immediately. I invited at least 7 people to my trampoline party. My friend group. Waited 30 mins and only 2 of those friends came. The twins. I still end up having fun. I’m forever grateful for the twins. They never once left me out and when a sleepover was planned, not only them, but their mom made sure that I was invited. I still have a connection to those twins as we spent our junior high to high school in the same school. Covid hit and, you know, friends split, which happened with most of my friends. But I’ll never forget about how they were always there for me. My party, sleepovers, Halloween. I love them. And actually miss hanging out with them.

The story it’s not about me but about a friend’s party I attended many years ago. How to forget my friend invited half of the class, she was never loved because she’s a special needs kid. So I was the only one who showed up and a teacher, my friend asked where were the rest and I just looked down not replying cuz’ I saw her eyes start watering. Some other boys and girls she was friends with attended (I don’t know who they were tho) but they yelled into her face “We don’t like you so much go somewhere else.” And she did so, feeling down. I was the one who spent most of the time with her at the party. It just hurts to remember it. If you guys have a special needs friend, please love them, they are the sweetest. It’s my 16th birthday, my parents have split custody of me. Today my mom was supposed to have me in the morning and my dad in the afternoon. My mom got me a cake, it was such a cool cake. My dad hates my mom so he didn’t come up to the apt with me to blow out the candles. My mom was there and so was my brother, i was happy. My birthdays have been like this for years, ever since my mom decided to have younger kids then me. I know it sounds like I'm just a jealous brat but I am. I never get attention anymore and because of my mental issues I need more of it. She doesn't even remember my name sometimes. My last birthday was just me and my older brother in our grandparents basement with a cake we bought from Walmart, some super junk food snacks, and our pet snakes. My helicopter mom never let me have a birthday past 8. She said after that its just another day to get older. We also moved every 5 years because she thought any friends I had made were bad influences because their parents were mose lax (never had sleepovers either.) Any friends I did make she wont let me contact them anymore, either. So I couldnt have a party even if I wanted. She kept me from being social and when I snuck to see my adoption papers, i saw that my family had genetical depression and a literal doctors note saying that I should be having meds and therapy (they got me @ 10 days old and was somehow showing signs already.) When I confronted her about it, she didnt even acknowledge me in the room. But when I tried to get help myself, she destroyed my phone so I had to get this one as well as now banning me to see anyone that isnt at my church (she keeps telling me about the type of people in there she wants me to date/marry ahead of time.) So she kept me from learning to socialize and then gaslights me for not being able to do it now. I cant cry because if she catches me, she will give me a reason to. When I get enough money from my part time job I'm gonna move far, far away from her and never talk to her again. 🙃 And get a new birthday if thats possible.
