Wow... I was jamming to this when I was 6-7. I'm so blessed that when my older step sister was obsessed with Melanie in 6th grade. I first listed to Melanie when I was 9 years old, and this song has been my favorite for as long as I can remember 💜. I love how Melanie can write from a child standpoint and an adult standpoint! Like the line,” Your favorite candy is cotton/thats why all your teeth are rotten,” could refer to cotton candy from a child pov. It could also talk about the cotton diet people go on where they will eat cotton balls in replacement of food. Both of which could cause your teeth to rot. Overall, she is an amazing writer and 100% deserves more recognition. 💜💜💜

I never thought I would relate to a Melanie song. But here it goes. My grandma is an alcoholic. It started before I was born. She would drink ofc, but when she had too much my grandpa would convince her to let up. Then he past away. The way she handled it? Alcohol. She drinks all the time. We've tried to get her to stop, but she never listens. This has caused her to develop dementia, she makes stupid decisions. She gotten scammed twice, and it have been worse if not for my parents.
