One of my friend's actually sang this song (except for the first verse, and changed some of the words) in front of our school on stage during a talent show, and he sang this song to expose one of our teachers, who had been manipulating him, and y'know.. Even pointing at her while he was singing, she was arrested after that event. He was so iconic for that.

I love the way all Melanie’s songs have meanings and aren’t just about stupid breakups that she had during high school. They talk about eating disorders, being used, bullying, alcoholic parents, p3d0philia and even fake fans and fake friends. That’s why Melanie is unique! Nobody can convince me otherwise!

This song is obviously about her "teacher" Adam Levine when she was on the voice. Him and his wife had a falling out also for unknown reasons but they are "okay" now. This is probably why. Despite the film portrayal this isnt about another person. It's def about Mel. She says give me back my money because he helped her push up her career a little for awhile but he just used her for the money and they stopped talking completely. They don't even follow eachother on anything anymore because they're not cool anymore. They used to follow eachother when she was on the voice and after that for awhile. She got far too and almost won. He helped her for a little while after the show but he just used her clearly. He was also obsessed with her on the voice he was like in love with her voice and look like he never shut up about it. I guess he screwed her too in more ways than one.

He was a 58-year-old married PE teacher at my school, teaching my boyfriend, who was in my class. I was 18. I had to make up my gym hours with my friend at an outdoor pool. He offered to take us out for a drink at the outdoor pool where there was a restaurant near by, and we said yes. We had a long conversation, and my friend had to leave. He offered to drive me home. It was in his car where it happened. He said so many things to me. "You are special. You caught my eye right away in the hallway. You are the prettiest girl in the school. You are very mature for your age. You have really captivated me. When I saw you, I felt it. I must say, l've fallen a bit in love with you." I was paralyzed and, under the influence of alcohol, I laughed away my confusion and fear with each comment he made. He touched me, stroked me, and kissed me on the mouth. I saw him as a figure of trust, like a father figure. He exploited exactly that. He sent me messages at night asking when we would see each other next, and I always refused. It happened once more, and then came summer break. For three months, I didn't tell anyone and suffered silently. I was so disgusted. It was the worst time of my life. It's been almost a year now, and he is no longer a teacher at our school because I finally spoke up. The police report was dismissed because he never made a statement. If something like this has happened to you, please speak out. People will understand and not judge you! That was really hard for me to understand. But please, gather the courage you need and confide in someone you trust.

He'd act like I was nothing to him when other people were around, but when we were alone, he tried to talk me into giving his v-card to him - which I didn't! I was waiting til marriage to do that sort of thing - then afterwards, he ignored me completely, then he disappeared.... Turns out, he had a fiance and I wasn't the only minor he tried hooking up with. Pretty sure he's still in jail. I'm a door mat usually, but I'm so thankful that I had enough respect for myself to stand up to my "boyfriend" when he tried to talk me into or literally tried to do some shady shit while we were kissing.

@@dabordietrying plus just on a pratical level, 911 only deals with immediate emergencies. if u seriously want to call someone ab grooming/sexual assault, youd get a better response on a helpline made for those kinds of situations

@trinitysera44595 жыл бұрын
@@ferneshamitchell9824 This song is obviously about her "teacher" Adam Levine when she was on the voice. Him and his wife had a falling out also for unknown reasons but they are "okay" now. This is probably why. Despite the film portrayal this isnt about another person. It's def about Mel. She says give me back my money because he helped her push up her career for awhile but he just used her for the money and they stopped talking completely. They don't even follow eachother on anything anymore because they're not cool anymore. They used to follow eachother when she was on the voice and after that for awhile. She got far too and almost won. He helped her for a while still after the show but he just used her clearly. He was also obsessed with her on the voice he was like in love with her voice and look like he never shut up about it. I guess he screwed her too in more ways than one. That's what this song is about. LOL

I also watched that season so I know by observation of his actions towards Mel. It was so obvious he was attracted to her.

Retro_Style 80 it can be taken both ways and I think that was deliberate. On one hand, pedophilia, especially for young girls and older men in positions of power (like teachers), is a huge problem, but on the other, so is cheating/being taken advantage of in relationships. Either way, it’s meaningful and makes a lot of sense, I think she’s trying to point out two big problems in one song.
