Living Awake- "Motherhood & Music" with Goapele

When I first found out I was pregnant... the rush and range of emotions was so extreme.... Joy, Anxiety, and down right Fear. At the time I felt so isolated from all my peers... both personal and professional... especially. It seemed like while everyone was in space of fast paced progress... my whole world was slowing down, and it was terrifying.
Once I officially announced my pregnancy, I was showered with so much love and support. And possibility! One of the beautiful souls who made #motherhoodandmusic look so appealing was my cancerian sister in music... GOAPELE.
One night after a late night studio session, we found ourselves bonding over the highlights and struggles of being a working mother in music. It was so helpful to laugh and cry about so many of the same things.
So when I chose #MotherhoodAndMusic as one of the featured topics for this series, I called her first.
For all the mothers out there, in music or not, this episode is for you. No matter what life brings us, the conversation of truth and vulnerability in motherhood is an endless one. I hope you enjoy this episode.
