ok - quadrant is … genius ! 😃 awesome tip 🥰 Mel - just fyi - when I did a diamond lately and did the rotate and fit 45 - I actually used the contextual menu buttons ‘rotate arrow 45” and ‘fit to canvas’ - snapping on - just wondering if you have used those ? or found issues thanks for all you do 🥰
@MelArmstrong8 күн бұрын
Yes I have used those and had no issues! 😀

A great tutorial, Mel ! Can I create this repeat in Photoshop ?
@MelArmstrong Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can! Photoshop has a similar Symmetry tool. When you click on a brush, you'll see a little butterfly icon on the tool bar which you can use to select the symmetry option. I will put on my list of tutorials to make!

Beautiful tutorial thank you. How do you stop the canvas from shaking whenever the hand is placed on the screen for drawing?. It happens to me every time. It might be a setting.
@MelArmstrong Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Go to Actions -> Preferences -> Gesture Controls -> General then disable the "Enable painting with finger" option. That should hopefully stop it moving!

Mel, thank you for making such a helpful, clear and concise tutorial! I have been looking all over for someone to explain how to make them, and I just found your video and am ready to make my first pattern! I appreciate the time you put into making this :D

Can you explain why you turn the layer to multiply when setting up your original diamond pattern @2:45?
@MelArmstrong6 ай бұрын
To be honest, it's not a necessary step. You could just lower the opacity. It's just a habit of mine to change it to the Multiple blending mode.

Thank you for the tip to paint the edges. The wrong size of the pattern made me crazy 🙈
