Adam, 37, was a housepainter before Covid and a broken relationship sent him to the street.

He seems a decent person and deserves better but Adam's case is almost an advertisement for how to become homeless. Unmarried. Prioritised ex's needs. Renter. Self-employed. Lower-skilled. No savings. From interstate. Alienated from family. He could still do painting work and get back on his feet though

Idc where they come from I have nothing for no one who chooses there addiction over their own lives nothing I was a life long addict and in the end i was homeless until the day I decided to get help got into rehab and quit using drugs 4 years 3 months 10 days clean so If I can do it anyone with the will to get clean can do it till then they will stay out there sad but it's the reality of a addict who chooses the drugs over their own life I can only pray for them but its their own choice and not my responsibility until they try then il help

I don't like questioning less fortunate people, but when he talked about centrelink payments and how they don't go far. I'd like to know how much he gets. Job Seeker is giving about $750 a fortnight. If he wanted to be housed the full 14 days, yeah sure it'd cost $658. However he still has $100 left for food. Then he has whatever he makes from begging. Just be honest about your addiction. I'd have given him nothing, but if he was honest I'd have 100% donated.

I agree n i would say he would have a lil more than $100 'closer to $200 not that thats much but he would be getting 3 meals n a bed n roof over his head, sadly some homeless ppl r use to not paying rent n then after years of being homeless they dont want to give a large part of there dole check away on rent. not all but quite a few as i have known many like that in the last 3o plus years n he might be one but each to there own as im not putting shit on him or how anyone wants to leave as long as they don't bother me if ya no wat i mean, like i no wats its like to be homeless i been homeless back in 97 full on n a few times -between units n so forth n ya its not nice i no that much thats why i always give homeless ppl money n i guess my dad always did tio so i gerew up around that generosity. ,. even if it just a dollar or two it all adds up. #peace.
