Thanks for the video. The stupid showrunner thought it was ok to kill off Melendez for shock value. Well the S4 ratings are gonna shock him. I watched for Claire, Melendez and Andrews. I am very sad and disappointed with what they did. Sometimes I wonder: if they were going to kill him, why did they create a deeper relationship between him and Claire? I will not watch the fourth season, I will not make it. Not without him. But I am very grateful for the moments of the two and for the wonderful videos I watched here too. You guys, I had intended to do this video and happily wait for Season 4 to see what it brings us. But, well, you know it looks like it didn't turn out the way I would have liked. I should be used to this as lately I have had several ships like this. But it hits fresh everytime. I was going to wait til my emotions settled but since I had already started the video, I needed to finish it and then distance myself from the show for a bit. As of now, I will not be back to watch Season 4. I didn't feel like they needed to kill the character off. I read the interview with the writer and NG. I have seen so many takes on that interview but my take was the writers felt they needed something shocking(disguised as telling a realistic story) and informed Nick it would be him shortly after the new year. Now there is alot that happened in between about their choice but there it is. Gotta say, this one hurt alot. There is so much I would have settled for besides this....so much. Anyway, unless it is miraculously fixed, I have watched the last of the show because honestly, if they did this to him, they will do it to another. And yeah, I don't need that. No problem if anybody continues to watch. I actually have started reading more now as I said I would do. But I will contiue to do videos for other ships and maybe revisit Melendaire so be expecting that. Thankful for all the comments and discussions always.

This was a beautiful video I am def devastated I have shipped them since the first episode when he winked at her. I wish I could say it was bittersweet but it’s actually just bitter. His first scene was with her and his last. Their chemistry was undeniable and I always saw it. He didn’t want to leave. They would have made a beautiful on screen romance. Very sad. Thank you for this. I waited 3 seasons for something to happen between them, and finally there is just this horrible end. Claire don't deserve this. But when I see this video, I realize that the story that there was between Claire and Melendez is the most romantic of all the good doctor series. Let Melendez die is just a stupid idea, and it's useless to keep watching. The production broke our hearts, the audience will drop and it will be fair.

They wanted to create a dramatic love story, like Titanic, (the water that starts to rise with Shaun and Vera made me think of that too) but there was not even a single kiss! it's like ron would die in the last episode before kissing Hermione, while they love each other from the start. it's just foolish. Not just for Claire, I actually really liked Dr.Melendez's character as a whole. He was a surgeon who thought outside the box, supported his residents even if it meant taking risks. That's what Good Doctors do, Shaun isn't the only one who deserves that title. And Claire did not deserve this, after all the pain she went through, she was finally coming out of it and was able to admit to her feelings. She deserves better. Even if they want to make it look real, how do they expect a character as sensitive as hers to deal with two deaths of people she loved?

I am Brazilian and a watch to series, I really are very sad about the death of Melendez, I cried a lot, because there was no sense in his death, he was one of the protagonists and was expecting a lot in his appearance next seasons, I believe that the audience for Good Doctor will drop death bill for this character, as well as another series that I watched called The walkind Dead, I suffered a lot with the death of many characters that were protagonists of series and on account said the audience has lowered a lot. In the end, I thought it unnecessary for them to have killed Melendez, but I will continue watching the series to see what will happen in the coming seasons. Am I the only one here who thinks he's not dead? I mean, we didn't SEE him died, and there's no flatline, it's possible that Claire cried in Lim's arms cause she thinks there's no hope left. Plus, I doubt Shaun even know about his condition, he didn't got his goodbyes. I'm not saying that suddenly he can help him or something but, there's still hope. Yeah the actor has done an exit interview, but maybe that's because they want us to think that he's dead so they can give us a heart attack next season. Just a theory tho.

Thanks for this JenJi. I won't be watching season 4 either. I feel totally betrayed and abused by the producers. The writers ran out of ideas and decided to kill off my Melendaire ship before it even set sail. That was so messed up. I guess they thought it was a 'clever' twist but they took it too far.. I will be watching compilations like this over and over until I get over it.

Welp, it physically hurts. and idk what to do with my life now. Literally since the first time Claire flirted with Neil I was waiting for them to get together, and now that they have, he's dead. Besides that, he was a favourite character, and I haven't cried this much since Season 3 of GoT. Also, the creators said they killed him off because they knew it would have an emotional impact. First off, fuck them all, second off, this is bullshit, Melendez was the backbone of TGD. Whoever replaces his character in S4 better not fuck up the story.

Amazing video! This song is heartbreaking, but I love it! Melendez first scene was with Claire and his last one too :( I can't believe he's gone, it was outrageous, unacceptable and anticlimatic! Only 3 doctor came to say goodbye to one of their own, I expected more commotion at the hospital, and the way Lim and Melendez walked out of that room talking about getting drinks and not even covering Melendez body... Seems like he was asleep not dead. Not to mention that didn't seem like they tried a lot of things to save him! We never saw him coding or being intubated! Maybe they had an idea between his last scene with Claire (at night) and the morning final scene. Also, Lim was talking about getting drinks with Claire! WTF! Almost seemed like they were laughing! If Melendez is gone that was really bad writing. I guess we'll have to wait.... Just can't wrap my head around the ideia that they would kill such a beloved character if Nicholas Gonzalez didn't ask to leave (what he did not).

Thank you for the video. Every time I watch such kind of videos about Melendaire I can't stop crying. Killing him off is a creative decision? Never. It's cruel. It's bullshit. I love Shaun and Lea, but this couple needs to be put along with a normal couple to see the differences and difficulties that they have in life. That's why Melendaire is so appropriate and matches the frame. Now they ruined everything. There is also a biased view on Claire as a color woman, and it's not good at all if they steal every good things from her life. This is a TV show, not real life. What pisses me off is the fact that David Shore And Daniel Dae Kim went all season long getting everyone's especially Melendaire fans hopes up of thinking that they were going to put Neil and Claire together if they NEVER had any intentions on making them a fuckin couple that's what's pissing me off here! I completely understand there's other characters on the show and it's not just based around Nicholas's character or on Claire and Melendez but what was the point of having them grow closer and spending all that time together and building a relationship if they were just planning on killing off Melendez? I don't understand. Cause in my opinion if they NEVER had any intentions on making them a fuckin couple then they should've just kept their relationship completely on a platonic level and had not even went down that road because all it accomplished was piss me the fuck off excuse my french. No one put a gun to Neil's head and made him say I love you to Claire he did that all on his own, if he honestly didn't love Claire or had no romantic feelings for her than he didn't even have to respond or acknowledge that she even told him she loved him he could've ignored it but instead decided to say I love you to Claire. Even Claire wasn't sure when she blurted out I love you to Neil if he even felt the same way about her but took a risk and told him anyways because she wanted him to know. And Limlendez's theory on how Neil still has feelings for Audrey because he made the statement I could spend a life time drinking whiskey with you, really? You got he still had feelings for her off that one statement? I honestly wanted to laugh my ass off! Just because he made that statement to Audrey doesn't necessarily mean that he meant it romantically or that it meant that he still had feelings for her how people came up with that ridiculous concept is beyond me, he could've easily meant having a glass of whiskey with her has a friend, I swear people read way to into shit. Not to mention Limlendez fans must really NOT pay attention very well because Neil told Shaun in another episode that he was completely over Audrey and Jessica so where they got this ridiculous concept that Neil's still into Audrey is beyond me. And here's another thing if Neil honestly was "Supposedly" So in love with Audrey which he NEVER was in love with her but ok he had every opportunity to tell her he loved her and didn't instead decided to say I love you to Claire. And same thing applies to Audrey has well if she was so in love with Neil she also had every opportunity to tell him she loved him when they were together saying their goodbyes and didn't and this is the couple that is "Supposedly" so in love with each other? Give me a break. Plus, here's another ridiculous theory from Limlendez fans they claim he's NOT in love with Claire because when she goes to say something to him he cuts her off and says DON'T! We all know the reason he really did that was because he wanted Claire to focus on other patients and not just on him and knew there was still a crisis going on in the hospital and knew they needed all the doctors available it had absolutely NOTHING to do with him NOT loving her. We all know the only reason Limlendez fans are making these stupid ass assumptions and saying stupid shit like Neil wasn't really in love with Claire and he only said he loves her because he was on his death bed is because their pissed he didn't end up with Lim and he was in love with Claire and NOT her.

I keep thinking that episode after episode they come up with ways in impossible situations to save people. But when it came to Neil, it was like he is going to die and they barely spent time on trying to come up with solutions...just not what the show has been about. Neil, Claire and Shaun were my favorite characters. I felt if one of these left(which obviously Shaun is the show so he wouldn't), I wouldn't be able to watch. And I ship alot of couples but only ship a few couples hard....this was one of them.

As far as I know something else had ripped open and bacteria was spreading quickly through his sytem, unfortunately there isn't a cure for that :/ I kept hoping Shaun would come in and devise this miracle plan as he so often does... But no, the creators just wanted shock value.

Sea Bird Yes, but I did so,e reading up on it, because I thought sepsis can be treated. Not in all cases, obviously, but even bad cases can be turned around. You just have to treat the patient, but they didn’t do anything. So I really don’t like how they choose sepsis as his death reason, when medically speaking, he could have been saved. Seems like lazy writing just get it done with.
