i jist ordered this as my first more specialozed mechanical keyboard. ice always only had mechanical keyboards but ive never had one that was hotswappable and i am so ready for one fresh out of the box that sounds as delicious as this one. perhaps it will be my gateway into the keeb hobby!

How do they make it sound so good? I always thought the reason you can't make the wooting or any HE boards for that matter sound good was due to the hall effect switches; even with the gateron jades which are apprently very similar to the ks37b used in the boog, all the wootings ive heard always sounded very rough. Is it just the alu plate and gasket mount? The boog really does sound amazing and it has left me stumped as to why I can't get my wooting sound even close to as good.

the wootings sound bad mainly because of the casing and metal on metal contacts

ungodly amounts of foam and decent tuning, keycaps are very thick. the alu plate is for accuracy with the tight tolerances on hall effect switches, gasket mount helps, and the case is also very thick.

So you can customize the button how hard it should be pressed? I have never seen this feature in any other keyboard before.

no, u can control when the switch will be activated AND the switch will reset after u let it go upwards. same feature as the Wooting Boards. look at their site. there is an explantion how it works in games. really awesome if u are someone who plays competetive really serious :D

while other companies have been doing it for a while (eg. steelseries), they only caught on recently with the release of the wooting boards, where rapid trigger was first developed. this is the first he keyboard that seems to be specifically aimed at enthusiasts tho

Would the Geonworks Raptor HE switches work with the PCB? Or the Lekker switches that Wooting uses?

i believe (altho i cannot very it) that they are compatible. both lekkers and these ks37bs are made by gateron, and raptor hes were made to fit the same socket as lekker. it would be really weird if gateron decided to use different sockets for different switches, so they *should* be compatible

@@TMKM I’ve asked their representative on Reddit the same question as well, and that they will be working out a compatibility list soon (I hope). From what the rep knows, none of the switches I inquired about works with the PCB unfortunately.

I bought it. I almost satisfied but ... this independent driver is not good. There are some issue about Key Replacement, to store settings and so on. I'm very disappointed that I can't do the basic things I expected.

its he switches, so the interferance *should* be lowered, but they can be rotated 180 degrees and work just fine due to them being analog it will block off the led of course but there will be no intereferance

Since it's a Hall effect keyboard and doesn't work with traditional MX switches, that might not matter as much. And you meant North-facing, right?

If I'm not mistaken, you can rotate these hall effect switches 180°, though it will block most of the LED. Then should be compatible with most keycaps.

iirc ut doesnt matter, because he switches can be rotated 180 degrees and still work just fine at least i know thats how wooting switches worked, and i see no reason why it would be different here
