Had our honeymoon there in 2019, such an amazing holiday, and we planned to go again following year, bloody COVID. Staff were unbelievable, and my wife stays in touch with people on social media. One we will return, Roly one of the gardner's managed to skank my golf cap, still in touch with him. Stay safe everyone

How deep is the clear blue water? Is it deep enough to reach my chest if i am 5'4? I see dark water so I'm hoping it's really far back from the shore

At Melia the water can get really deep (over your head) and you will still be in the nice sandy area. I am 6' and we didn't get anywhere near the "dark water" area.

Not at all during our stay. The resort is clean and well-maintained.

Didn't experience any mossies, just plenty of vodka

I think it depends what time of the year you go. We were there at beginning of May (considered the start of wet season) and the only time we were bothered was at night near the entertainment stage. Even then on nights when it was windy they didn't bother us.

I'am very happy for you guys if you enjoy but I just wanna tell you that each dollar you spend in Cuba it helps to suffering of Cuban people. Each dollar you spend in Cuba it helps to the Dictatorship to have a money for the repression , they invest the money only against the cuban people, agaisnt the population and the population is starving. If you really love Cuban people, if you really want the best for them NO TRAVEL TO CUBA. Freedom for MORE THAN 1000 political prissioners, PATRIA, VIDA Y LIBERTAD !!!

Im so sorry to hear about that, we just wanted to have a break from stressful work and dip in a beach which you are lucky to have one of the best. What you just shared is well noted. We dont know exactly the whole story of your country and people. Hope your advocacy in promoting a boycott to your tourism will make a difference, if not now or sooner, at least by God’s grace and mercy in the next generation of Cuban people.🙏🏽

@@charbelelijah I understand and thanks for you answer. You have right to go wherever you want but it was just and advice in order to let everybody know the reality of cuban people. Thanks a lot !

@@charbelelijah There is nothing more rabid than an ex-Cuban living in Florida. They now support Trump and DeSantis in Florida and complain about left wing fascism meanwhile they fully support right wing fascism. Tips and gifts that tourists bring with them help the Cuban people despite what these guys say.

We had zero weeds along the beach or sands in Varadero and that's the way we like it.
