Melia Cayo Coco, One Of The Best All Inclusive Hotel in Cayo Coco, Cuba

Melia Cayo Coco Hotel is located in Cayo Coco, Cuba, approximately 15 minutes by vehicle from the Jardines del Rey Airport. The beachfront hotel is a 5-star adults only All-Inclusive property with 250 rooms. We stayed at this hotel in August, which is a low travel season with high temperatures and humidity for this time of the year. In comparison to the winter high travel season, the low season usually means big discounts on vacation packages, making it more affordable for many people.
From check-in to check-out, our stay at Melia Cayo Coco was a pleasure. The resort's staff is extremely helpful in trying to keep the guests happy. The surroundings and facilities are lovely and well-kept. This is without a doubt one of the best hotels in Cayo Coco, Cuba.
Our personal views on the hotel's advantages and disadvantages;

Pleasant and helpful staff

The lobby is open and bright, with an on-site terrace.
All the facilities are close to the lobby
Nature is breathtaking

Excursions can be booked at the hotel through your travel agency. One of the most popular excursions available is on a catamaran. Jeep tour was also available but with a manual transmission and a lot of driving. Have fun !

Thanks. Horseback riding is not available at this hotel, but you can find it if you walk down the beach to Pullman Cayo Coco, which is next to Melia Cayo Coco. We tried it when we stayed at Pullman, and it was nice.

Hello. We liked Melia, a five-star hotel. The beach, hotel, service, and food (Cuban standards, fresh and local) were all great. The rest is all about choice; we prefer the beach and the personnel over the food, and we never went hungry at any of the resorts we stayed in Cuba.

It should be, unless the hotel closes for minor renovations. Some hotels, I've heard, prefer to close in September or October because it's storm season and they can perform some maintenance on their properties. The best will be to contact the airlines to find out if they go there.

Yes, we did on numerous occasions and never encountered any problems. If you wish to experience native Cuban life, keep in mind that Cayo Coco is a separate island with mostly tourist hotels and a few locals, located around an hour and 20 minutes away from the main island. The closest city to visit is Moron.

Night shows at the theatre, live music and good atmosphere. Didn't see a disco at that time.

We stayed a few years ago at Royalton Cayo Santa Maria and love it. The beach is also better. Never stayed at Paradisus Rio de Oro.

Have been going to that hotel the last pass 10 years it was a 4 to 5 stars not any more I give 3 stars why the food is cool and hamburger meat not cook I order tree time same thing. Always same food every days but the staff are excellent. The price is too expensive for what you got. Barbecue food not cook or to cook. Room no hot water. I think cuba going done a lot. They’re saying smoking room but is not you have to smoke outside and get bite by mosquitoes. Missing a lot of stuff and food.

Thank you for sharing your experience Richard. We had a great time here, but we never went to Cuba for food. For us, it's all about the beaches, which are among the best in the Caribbean, and the people, of course. To be fair, we visited dozens of resorts in Mexico and the Dominican Republic during and after the pandemic, and to our great surprise, the food quality was also lower and rarely changed compared to before the pandemic, and I'm talking about 5 star resorts. I believe that after suffering significant losses as a result of Covid, the resorts are attempting to cut corners on a number of levels(staff, food, entertainment) while maintaining high prices. Unfortunately, this is how the travel world looks after Covid, and we just lowered slightly our expectations for now.
