New subscriber, really enjoy your videos. Thinking of booking for two weeks in late January. Our biggest priority is beach or pool shade. If we upgrade to The Level, would we have a better chance of getting shade if we arrive early in the morning?

Regardless of whether you book the Level or not, you will not have any problem finding a shady spot on the beach in January - 🏖️- there are so many palapas and trees, we’ve never had any issues. The pool can be challenging in February and March in terms of chair availability, but January is not as busy so you should be fine - but the Level does increase your selection of chair real estate by 33% or so and they are nicer, padded lounge chairs. The big bonus with the Level is the Quimera restaurant - such good food and service! Hope you have an amazing stay!

Unfortunately not - but then again, in my opinion they are not required. The resort has very good mosquito mitigation in place as I barely noticed any during my recent two month stay.

Im going in December and cant wait. Level Beachside here. One compaint Ive heard is that very loud music is played at the main large pool all day long. Was this true for your stay?

In terms of 2022 and 2023, the main pool was mostly quiet with low level music during the day. The exception was during water aerobics between 11am and 12pm and even that activity wasn’t too loud. Portable speakers are a no-no at the pool, and most guests are respectful and use headphones. Hope you have an amazing stay!

The Level does provide you with a butler who looks after your dinner reservations and any questions you might have about the resort. In terms of the vibe, it’s not Animal House, but neither is it a monastery - it’s a relaxed environment with lots of people having fun at the pool, beach and lobby. The rooftop bar is kinda chill with some great entertainment in the evenings.

Hey great video! Going here in june, Are there any credit card holds or extra credit card charges at check in/check out? Also booked the non level but plan on upgrading upon arrival, any estimate on how much that'll be ?

Can’t really help you with the credit card 💳 question as we do not use ours in the DR - I’m sure it’s fine to use a CC at the resort and reputable businesses - but otherwise, I would err on the side of caution ⚠️ as far as the upgrade goes, it all depends on occupancy and availability - the resort has been close to 100% occupancy this spring, so best to buy before if travelling at peak season

If you book an all-inclusive package, your transfer from the airport to hotel is often included - otherwise, a taxi is your best bet.

Do you know the beers (bottle/cans) and red wine brands that you get with the level vs normal? We don't drink liquor, so wondering about the beer/wine. Thanks!

The only four beers I have ever seen at the resort are Presidente, Coors Light, Heineken and Corona. Bars mostly feature Presidente, Coors and Heineken are sometimes left in your room mini fridge. Pretty sure you have to pay for Corona. Local grocery stores are well stocked with known brands.

I have stayed at the Mélia Paradisus which is next door to the Grand Bavaro Princess. In terms of the beach 🏝️, the waves are much bigger at the Princess and the beachfront is not as deep, but still beautiful. So they are both good choices. What may be a consideration is that the Mélia Punta Cana Beach Resort is walking distance to a beautiful stretch of deserted beach that offers an amazing hiking experience kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6GppYeHed17hcUsi=kCy06QCx1K1PzzO7

Ok. Thanks. 👍 How does the staff recognize 👀 LEVEL and not LEVEL guests at the BAR? Will they ask for your room number etc? Read some reviews that the level upgrade is not worth it, because all guest were using the level services eg the private LEVEL BEACH 🏖 , BARS 🍹

@@jaca3780in terms of the Quimera facility (restaurant and rooftop bar), you will not get served unless you’re wearing a Level bracelet. As far as the beach and pool go, you may be able to sneak in, but if the resort is busy, you’ll be outed in short order by other guests. Best to follow the rules. In terms of value, if you enjoy a more refined vacation experience and waiter service for breakfast and lunch, then it’s good value. The Quimera restaurant and rooftop bar are absolutely beautiful.

Are Level guests allowed to use all the facilities (restaurants) at the other 'on property' Melia resort? I heard Melia stopped allowing access but not sure if it applied to Level guests.

Last I heard the two resorts, Caribe and Punta Cana Beach, are now two separate entities so you can only enjoy the restaurants of the resort you book with. This was the case in March 2023

Peak months are February and March - I’ve never been there in May, but I suspect it may be quieter. The only caveat is if a large conference is happening during your stay. To be safe, I would reach out to the hotel for more precise information.
