... Dora is Pandora isn't she? I can't believe it took me this long to realize it. That's why Promy is talking about her potentially being responsible for all of the misfortunes of humanity. According to her first Myth, Pandora (unnamed at this point) was made by Hephestus at the behest of Zeus to punish humanity after Prometheus gave them the gift of Fire, the first ever human female according to the first myth, Pandora was given to Prometheus' brother as his bride, where upon she brought the Jar (Pandora's box in later translations) and eventually opened it, releasing all of the maladies and evils upon humanity. Which explains her connection to Promy, and why she might be considered responsible for any evils/why she would want to forget everything she has done/did. Depending on which version of the Pandora's box myth SuperGiant pulls from, assuming they don't mix them up/make their own, Dora could have a rough time being cured of her memory loss. It also explains why she is such an old shade, as she was one of the first humans ever. Also, you need to go to the underworld to grab Hecuba and talk to Arachne! Fare Well, Agent of Change

Nico I refuse to believe you made the connection only recently!! I don’t entirely blame, in that people likely hyped Dusa and nothing came out of that in Hades 1. But yes, Dora appears to be the Pandora. Your explanations align with what’s been presented so far ^ Dora is warned to have a bad time when recovering her memories. She was noted to be an ancient Shade from Moros. As for the gods, I am curious to hear from Hephaestus and Zeus about this, but so far they are very quiet as if “that’s in the past now”. Supergiant appears to base a lot of their versions from Ovid, so I'm curious how bad this is going to go. I got my popcorn and my pearls to clutch. LOOL yes I do need to see Hecuba. And Arachne! Raki seems to be quite strong, I should consider Underworld soon.

Poor Dora. Even now, her god-given curiosity screws her over. It's compelling her to discover the truth she chose to forget, just as it compelled her to open that damn jar. Poor girl can't catch a break. My guess is that the gods gaslit her after the evils were released, making her believe Prometheus and her were to blame. The worst part is that they probably believed it too. Gaia seems possible after that Athena dialogue, but that wouldn't explain the storm, would it? Only if Zeus is the one causing it. Well, I believe she is Typhon's mother, so both of them could be up there.

Right, Dora was up by the gods with her horrible case of “finding out”. She also asked Mel to disclose every details of her failed Runs, so even in her mundane dialogues, she’s been curious after her memory wipe. Either 1) she’s becoming more like her Dora self or 2) even when she completely wipes everything about her past self, she can never truly destroy her nature. Alas. I would be shocked and laughing if it’s Gaia. Something about the world being angry. The game has mentioned her a number of times, so it’s possible ^ but I’d be surprised!!!

I kinda hope it is Gaia. Like, she's finally sick of the fighting so she sends out Typhon. It would be funnier if she came out ready to start throwing hands with everyone.

If it’s Gaia, I think we just lose lool. Ppl interpreted that Gaia made Typhon to avenge the other Titans, but I don’t think it’s been explicitly stated that she wanted that. Similarly to how Nyx doesn’t actually approve of Eris (least in Supergiant). It’s possible Typhon doesn’t actually represent Gaia’s feelings either. That being said, I’d love to see the Earth showing Olympus how it’s done.

LOL yes, I felt this was the peak of Melinoe’s interaction with Promy, at least for this update. Melinoe usually dismisses whatever Promy says as nonsense or blasphemy. But here, she genuinely refers to him what happened, because her dear friend is on the line. A very vulnerable moment, and peak!!

The mysteries that are starting to pop up; And the mysteries that are about to unravel. From Athena's possible accomplice with Arachne's afflicition, Dora's past with Promy and her persisting curiosity, and the certain rumblings in the Earth (Gaia's requiem perhaps?). Being giddy isn't enough to describe my excitement as we peel every layer. I wonder if Ananke plays a part in all the uproar that the pantheon is facing right now. Something tells me (and I hope) that we get Entropy from her, for as I see it, she may have thought this dilemma to be a *necessity* to push the Olympians and settle their disputes/shortcomings - such as their complacency and carelessness.

Gaia’s requiem sounds class! I’m not sure if Typhon is directly related to her displeasure of the gods but rather implied. Regardless, I find it very appropriate for the narrative! And also, Eris keeps leaving trash on her soil. Hmm! Ananke is new to me! This opens a new path! If the game even has time to introduce a new character, this would be huuge! If Ananke dictates even the Fates (and the game has placed heavy emphasis on the Fates already), then we may meet the Weavers’ boss ^

i wonder that if we do get to see zagreus as an npc, if he can give us a keepsake, and what effect his keepsake would have on gameplay

I’ve read the leaks, says here that Zagreus‘ keepsake can befriend a boss, entirely skipping a battle once per Run. Jk idk lool. But whatever is keepsake could be would also go back to his question in Hades 1. Zagreus asked what is he the god of. And couldn’t find a convincing answer, while Achilles assured he must be a god of something. It would be fulfilling if Zagreus found himself between Hades 1 and 2 and it portrayed in his keepsake.

Thanks and I was! I had a Minor List for them but was unlucky here. May consider another try this week. As for Eos, you aren’t the first to bring it up lool. I considered giving that aspect another chance because we believe in second chances.

Ugh, the game really didn't want you to fulfill Demeter's minor prophecy, did it? It is both excellent writing and deeply ironic that the quality that made Dora open the jar in the first place--curiosity--is now the quality that will make her remember everything Past Dora wanted to forget 😕 Before I think we agreed that entropy looked Fates-coded, but yeah now it looks Chaos-coded. What is up with this? Where are they hiding??? We need more, Supergiant!

The luck was not in my favor this time. Another time then, Winter is coming! Truue! Very clever Dora is unbottling her own genie bottle. Her curiosity will be her demise again. Aiyah* If we are simplifying “entropy” into a system of disorder or randomness, then it does sound more Chaos coded, but then why later does Chaos give us Entropy? Unless, we find ourselves at the end of the Fates’ weavings and there is unpredictability there from the Fates ^ hmm. It’ll be anticlimactic if Chaos just ends up telling us where the Fates are like last time lool. I’m guessing an Incantation to find the Fates, but wouldn’t know what would prompt that in the future. At the very least, we’ll need a strand of Moros’ hair for this assignment lol.

Exactly! If we’re right and entropy really is a Chaos-coded ingredient, why haven’t they given it to us yet, or made it available for us to get ourselves? I feel like Melinoë and Prometheus’ conversation here was civil? Not hostile? It feels like progress for Melinoë.

@@theheartofmymystery Chaos is funny. From a narrative perspective, it would feel appropriate for Chaos to have the last laugh since Chronos tricked the Originator. Tt could be because of the Early Access pacing that’s at fault here, but I feel it’s something Chaos could be cooking up “Entropy” as the story progresses, so they haven’t had it all figured out yet. Also, it’s not entirely out of question with Chaos’ laissez faire attitude to just all of a sudden try new things. It’s both deus ex machina and character progression for Chaos. For example, only recently have we been getting Chaos portals on the Surface because only now they decided to try it lool. Hopefully they don’t lean into the former too much, because it really does feel plot convenient. Right ^ there’s a point when Melinoe genuinely stops to listen to Promy, rather than dismiss his seminars as blasphemy to the gods. Good progression ^

@@Hamstir4 You make good points. Deus ex machina as a trope rarely works, so wouldn't entropy be better off as a Fates-related ingredient? At least that's the conclusion I'm coming to now.

@@theheartofmymystery I too would feel it’s lazy if they pulled a Chaos answer, at least without proper build up. A tedious answer but it makes sense would be, it’s a combination of both Chaos and the Fates. They had conflict before and the formation of entropy could be their resolution to that. As much as I like the compromise, I think physically meeting both the Fates and Chaos sounds like a stuffy room ^

wooo, catchin' up! dear, i actually don't know much about gaia or typhon on the top of my head. seems like i need to dig through my skull haha... kinda worried about constant tremors... (trembling) but you mention typhon in some sort of relation with volcano, well, isn't inside promy's boss chamber looking kinda hot...? and... and it mention some rumbling off the distance..? ouwh. I'm gripping my pillows. dora. promy. promy, again, holding back for the best outcomes, even if some aspects are inevitable or bad. and melinoe too, oh, you hear how gentle she sounds when she talks about dora carrying a burden? for all her flaws, she truly does care for her friends and that's so great to see. though, in her situation, it is very hard to have your cake and eat your cake too... she is quite the people-pleaser! (not always of course. we saw how ruthless she is) love that, melinoe, i really, really can't wait to see how dora's backstory will affect her. it is going to be sweet. bittersweet. I'M CLUTCHING MY PEARLS TOO OH HHHOHO the spell!!! another spell we need to unlock!! oh if its going to be like hypnos dream... um. can we have a cardboard of epimetheus? and, um... a cardboard of promy? (unlikely, prometheus was already chained to the mountain by the time pandora was made, i believed, but!!! cardboard promy!!!)

Aw thanks for keeping up to date with the club meetings. No need to push and hope works been little easier? As for Promy’s chamber, I would’ve imagined as we climb to a summit, it’s turning into a volcano for Typhon to erupt the entire Mount Olympus. But that chamber may be Promy’s Fire alone?? So my read on that was wrong. Apparently on a Homer dialogue about Promy’s chamber, he was warning that the next chamber ahead dispels the heat with the cold winds. So interestingly, the summit isn’t bursting heat as we’d imagine Typhon would. But Typhon does have access to storms as well. LOL the pillows! Very comfortable ^ Promy knows it’ll be painful, but is seeking for the least painful outcome :c It really is sweet how concerned Melinoe about Dora’s request. Whether she believes Promy’s warnings or not, her intuition also tells her this may have grave consequences to her friend’s well-being. I’m invested if this would help Melinoe lean in favor towards the mortals but also running out of pearls to clutch. Speaking of! Cardboard of Epimetheus would be a nice cameo if they aren’t going to introduce him as a character. Similar to how Mount Olympus had statues of other gods with no elaboration. I would imagine Promy is already sentenced by then, yet he knew of Dora. Dora’s exact relationship to Promy would be confirmed this way too.
