Found this thanks to Terri Lyne Carrington's new book "New Standards - 101 Lead Sheets by Women Composers." Fantastic discovery for me. So glad that book is pushing me in all kinds of great directions. Got to see Melissa play in my hometown (Winnipeg) a few years ago. Stunning performance.

What an amazing performance by the Frankfort Radio Big Band with fantastic solos by Melissa and Steffen. Melissa's "Emelia" is from her first Blue Note album: "12 Stars". Great stuff arranged by conductor Jim McNeely. DownBeat magazine's "Woodshed" section, focusing on her album solo, brought me here.
