This is the first song I ever heard from her. I remember my aunt told me when she saw I kept playing it over and over that she was gay by way of making me comfortable to come out. 😌

Melissa is one of my favorites singers! She sings with such passion. I remember the first time I heard the song "Like the Way I Do" on the radio. I was blown away! I had to find out who sang that song. I've been a huge fan since that day. 🔥🎸🎤

She went out of her way to come to St. Louis (Missouri) area, to Ferguson, where the Mike Brown-shooting-by-a-police-officer went down in 2014, to support a woman reopening her restaurant , maybe BC of COVID restrictions or how it affected restaurants' patronage, it was closed. . . . . She even did a little gig at the place. . . . . ... . . . I of course was outta-the-loop and missed it, but still, very cool of her.

I wish that whole music trend would swing back, the " Women in Rock" thing, that's a little patronizing and gimmick-y, but still. It coincided with that mid-90s " Lesbian chic" thing too... , As middle-aged-guy as it sounds, music sucks very bad these days, and it's sad really. I have a theory it's BC these Millenials were all raised so well, stable young folks who don't have the anger and rebellion to put that feeling to,.They were never beaten by a nun or spent a night in jail for shoplifting a pair of Gap jeans, never were called "qu ** r" , or had their parents call the police for them smoking pot, that kinda stuff! Rock on, Ms M!
