I met Melissa at Wet "n" Wild in 1992, in Orlando, Fl. We were in line, waiting to go on a water slide. I recognized her and asked her if she was "Clarissa" and she was so sweet. She said, "yes." I couldn't believe it. I was standing next to her in a line... She answered all my questions about her show. She seemed just as excited to meet me and my cousin, as we were to meet her. Congratulations on a great life, Melissa. :)

I think it was very wise of her to speak of marriage like that given that she still wants to be a great example for other people, specially those close to her, it is important to not to perpetuate a string of false expectation on things... most things in life have its ups and downs, and hearing that from someone with such high exposure is appreciated and heartwarming... I'm thankful for those down to earth people in the world, not just "the industry".

For me, Melissa Joan Hart's take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch will always be the best. The serious, dramatic, and much darker tone the new version has is just not doing it for me. I need the family friendly lightheartedness and comedic timing that Melissa, Beth and Caroline brought to Sabrina, Zelda and Hilda respectively. Also, Salem Saberhagen. His sarcastic, dry wit was brought perfectly to life by Nick Bakay. I can't imagine the character with any other voice. I just can't.

Since I was drawn to the cartoon lineup at that time, I began casually viewing the live action shows, even though they were aimed at kids, but one show that was well written, with aspects that reminded me of classic sitcoms of my years growing up (the 19660's) was "CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL". Clarissa's talking to the audience and breaking that fourth wall reminded me of "THE PATTY DUKE SHOW" which was also rerun as part of Nick at Night's prime time lineup, and the show that starred Melissa Joan Hart just seemed to be updating that concept, especially in sistuations with her scheming younger brother. Even at its quirkiest, I'm sure the situations might have been familiar in some way to aspects of the lives of so many viewers. As for "SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH", well, I was never an "ARCHIE" fan, but I liked that show for the core cast, which was always rotating, from Jenna Leigh Green's snarky Libby Chessler to Martin Mull's uncompromising Mr. Craft, the mistrusting principal of the school who just didn't like Sabrina and her friends at all. Also, throughout its seven-year run, it had all kinds of guest stars from my days of watching television. I'm blind, but boy, do I wish I could have seen the visuals of this show just to see how the magical world of Sabrina was fabricated. Melissa was perfect for the role, although she had great ensemble cast members, especially in those two opening seasons. There were even pop tunes of the decade to amp up the wild antics--Sabrina riding her vacuum cleaner through the town to the tune of a Liz Phair song or "R.E.M. "hit" "Shiny Happy People" being played at parties with a shimmering Jello mold; I wonder if Michael Stipe had seen any of that. It was fun, meant at times to be a throwback to the golden age of TV, coupled with the modern age. I hope that a c omplete DVD or bluray set of "CLARISSA" is brought out, perhaps with commentaries by the cast members. Melissa has some fond memories of the show, and it was a sleeper favorite since cable TV was not as necessary back then as it is now. Good stuff, all, and I'm glad to see little interviews like this. Here's to Melissa and Jenna Leigh, even if they were rivals.

Sabrina and TGIF in general was everything. It’s hard to think that TV could get people to stay home on Friday nights now, haha.

She has what so many people lack in the industry as well as in day to day life. She has common sense, logic and integrity. I think that's why she has been a staple on television. What a great spirit.

@@lmatt88 Sweetie, it was what the industry sees as a "flop". it didn't generate even half of what it was expected to at the box office. that is a FLOP. that's probably why she wasnt asked about it. it wasn't and still isn't, considered one of her better pieces of work. are you just an idiot?
