He probably pretended to make fun of Theresa, or punish her a bit, because Theresa had this insatiable hunger for money and spending, all on his back. In the casting tapes, he speaks of it, but still laughing. But years later, the pressure Theresa gave him was too much and he saw it all coming, what later came , like the prison sentence.
