Soft Braided Updo | Missy Sue

This updo is done a little more intricately than my usual hairstyles. By that I mean it’s broken down into a few extra steps by creating and wrapping a number of different braids to strategically overlap one another. It would be a beautiful hairstyle to wear on a number of special occasions, whether it be for a school dance, a wedding, graduation, birthday, anniversary, or just a fun night out.

In utter shock that no French braiding was required!! ( I'm literally incapable of doing them haha) so when you showed that it was only regular braids, I got super excited. I think I'll be using this look for my prom hairstyle, and can't wait to braid this thick hair of mine out of my face for a night of dancing and celebration :)

Gorgeous! My hair is just like yours: long, thick and so easy to style. I'm going to try this for work tomorrow and hope it holds up during my 13hr shift! I've done a slightly different take on this with French braids in front on both sides wrapped around a regular bun in the back, but I've always done tight braids. I think the loose ones look better. Beautiful job, Missy. Love how simple it is. Anyone who can do a standard plait can wear this style. Great for days when I don't want to French braid or dutch braid. I love braids, but sometimes I don't feel like taking the time to do anything to intricate because of the time and because anyone who braids their own hair knows what happens to your arms after a while. This is a great alternative. It looks more complex than it actually is. I love your channel. I watch all of your videos. Thanks for all of the beautiful hairstyle inspiration!

Thank you so much Missy Sue!! I just discovered you tonight and I'm going to a wedding on January 16th and I'm going to try to do this hairstyle. Since it is only regular braids and not french braids or fishtail braids I believe with the help of my niece I can pull it off and had a spectacular up do. Again thank you for all your tutorials.
