Hi Melissa , your journey has been exciting to watch.I came from the UK too in 2023,we lived in east London, where we could easily walk to the high street and flex with all kinds of stores, but CA has its own style peculiar to every province. Calm down and understand your area, CA has land mass "everyone and everything" is far apart you can be like 10hrs drive inside one province its crazy, Relocation is not easy it is a stressor on its own and that's a fact. Rent is the same as in the UK in terms of deposit and rent in the first month It is even cheaper in CA compared to the standard of houses. As a PR do you know what benefits await your family? you can't imagine it. Your taxes on goods may eventually be returned to you after you file your taxes each year. Canada cares for their PR/ citizens with time you will understand. There are jobs just that you have to get certifications, and their certifications are different from those of the UK and cost money and time off-course African food will be more expensive in CA than in UK distance is a factor to consider, I find that its easier to have free cash in CA and you can do any number of job you want, especially on PR not like the restrictions with 90% imm on work permit in the UK. yes, family doctors are scarce in smaller provinces, but global statistics find life expectancy higher in CA it's a shocker though. People should not be discouraged from coming over because everyone's journey is peculiar. With relocation, we win some and lose some. Remember to update us with all the juicy benefits when you fully blend in. Regards

Even if healthcare professionals are in high demand in Canada, their route for licensing is a nightmare, it is very difficult for an international professional to go through the process of licensure. I recently got my full license here in the UK and got ITA from Canada earlier this year and my COPR just came through last week but I'm still thinking of starting afresh to pursue getting my license to practice in Canada. Lol...Intersestingly,you compared cost of living but didn't compare average wages in both countries. Average annual wage in Canada is well over 60k and that of the uk is less than half of this figure,as a matter of fact, how many people earn 30k plus in the UK???So you see how the cost of living balances out everything . For many immigrants, before you get a settled status in the UK, you must have given out an arm and a leg in taxes, visas,National insurance and IHS,but in Canada you can literally get it on a platter of gold depending on your chosen route. For some of us when we think of ease of securing PR,the wider roads, bigger cars ,bigger homes, etc.Canada still wins. Just try coming in with a PR and possibly a job too and some savings for softer landing, especially when coming from the UK.
