The era your speaking about, NOBODY was publicly putting neighborhood sexual predators on blast. It was just another accepted obstacle to dodge among other things going on in the hood. Even in my hood in Brooklyn growing up in the 1970's and 80's, everyone knew who the predators and molesters were, you just stayed clear from them and laughed at the victims, especially when they were boys. Yes, that was cruel but without the proper support system to isolate and annihilate the predators and protect and support the victims was not in place back then.

Here's what's sad, I have seen Bam in person, never met him. I was down with the Zulu nation in Chicago. Fast forward my guy from BX tells us about 1 to 2 years before it became known that Bam had a dark side. The story comes out, we go to my guy and he says the same thing Melle Mel said that people knew but there was so much tension behind the scenes that people were trying to figure out how to address the issue when there were people actively trying to suppress the information. I think that's why it was hard to address because you had people working overtime to squash the story. This is a sad chapter in our culture.
