In the '80s, drug dealers didn't want to be rappers, because the rappers weren't gettin' money like that. The d-boys were making all of the dough. Rappers really didn't start gettin' big money as a whole until this past decade, like since 2010 when mp3s really became profitable... in the '90s and '00s, only the big sellers were makin' bread, and even a lot of those guys were still gettin' jerked. @wacko373 жыл бұрын

@JR-ju3kj Жыл бұрын
I agree and I can understand that but at the same time, to the point about Italian-Americans and Italian people not liking movies about the mafia because it makes people think that all Italians are crooks, I agree with something Joe Rogan said to the actor Steve Schrirripa( who played Bobby Baccalieri on the mob show The Sopranos) when he talked about how there were Italian-American groups complaining and protesting against the show for the exact same reasons that you just named and how they felt like the show was stereotyping Italians and Italian-American as gangsters and mafioso , it's disingenuous to pretend that people like that who happen to be Italian don't exist. It's the same way that it would be disingenuous to pretend that black drug dealers, gangsters, pimps and thugs don't exist. If it's ALL or disproportionately more of what the media and pop culture portray, then I think that that's a problem and it IS a problem. But mob movies and Gangsta rap/ drill rap and hood movies by themselves, aren't something that I have a problem with because again, people like that exist in every group of people. They don't represent the entirety of that group but like I said before, I can understand how people from a specific group would feel like movies or shows or music are stereotyping EVERYONE in that group and making them all look bad( and I feel like a great director like Martin Scorsese is guilty of that with some of his films that have quite frankly, glorified organized crime).

Vlad is a the reconnaissance arm of the COINTELPRO. They launch the attacks and drop the bombs on us and Vlad comes to measure the effectiveness of the attacks, who survived, how and why. So that they can regroup, fine tune and launch the next wave against blacks worldwide. IMO Vlad is much more sinister than face value. I used to read the comments that he was "the feds" or "da police". I just took them with a grain of salt but I kept on watching and listening. He doesn't interview racist cops that killed blacks. He doesn't interview people that made racist policies against blacks. He doesn't interview racist degenerates that gerrymander all of the districts in America and shine new light on all of the secret policies and political/economic attacks against black people. He doesn't cover "I'm white and I know all of these secret conspiracies and actions against black people". He doesn't cover injustice in the "justice" system. He doesn't interview people responsible for privatization of prisons. I love this interview but I am very aware of Vlads official position.

dude dropping jewels. there was a concerted effort by record execs in the 90's to promote gangster rap in order to overshadow the more conscious hip hop in the same era, because the latter genre of hip hop had revolutionary ideas.
@wayofthegun62243 жыл бұрын
ice t album power went platinum in a few months ..nwa first album sold two million copies in one yr ..no conscious rapper was getting those kinds of album sales and that's a fact.. public enemy first album went gold their second didn't go platinum till yrs later.. fear of a black planet made them super stars ..every other conscious rapper struggled to go gold ...it wasn't the music executives that decided to push gangster rap more because they didn't invent it def jam was about to fold because they did do gangster rap back then...also it was the fact that inner city kids were buying more NWA than poor righteous teachers...also other rappers started seeing the record sales that gangster rap were getting and the next generation of rappers decided to go that route .. conscious rap died on it's own because black people would say all the time I don't listen to that shyt because I don't want to be preached to ..even today when a intelligent rappers like say nipsey says something about the state of hip hop he use to always start by saying I don't want to preach but .. don't blame the industry for what we did ..the industry moves how we want it to move ..

Mel speaking facts but these dudes get rewarded for their street image. Dudes get attention from females, record companies, and the whole nine. If it wasn't cool, mfs wouldn't be doin this mess.
@Charles-tt3dr3 жыл бұрын
Facts!! Social Engineering!! All of this is done by design to corrupt the minds of the Blk youth. Around the time gangsta rap was heavily being pushed, the gov't was ramping up mass incarceration. Rappers making it cool to be street dudes lead to an explosion in the prison population.
@rickyv77573 жыл бұрын
@@Charles-tt3dr exactly, nobody was wise enough to realize the shit was brainwashing to promote crime which equals massive profit for the corporations. It started even before with blaxploitation movies. All you have to do is look at who runs the entertainment industry.
@Charles-tt3dr3 жыл бұрын
@@rickyv7757 The blaxploitation era is a great example. Thanks, for mentioning that!! My moms told me after Superfly came out the men of her generation wanted to be like Ron O'Neal's character in the movie. This is around the time when Nixon instituted the racist War On Drugs policy.
@rickyv77573 жыл бұрын
@@Charles-tt3dr right and exact. Unfortunately, black folk don't realize the elites never help you unless they are helping themselves. There's a book called " An Empire of Their Own ", which explains who created Hollywood, why they created it and how they created it. And the same people who run Hollywood, run the music industry. It's all usury. Like the banking system.
@Charles-tt3dr3 жыл бұрын
@@rickyv7757 I'm going to look for that book..
