Easy pezy cables. Your "you can do it too" attitude, along with your show and tell videos, help make knitting so much easier to do. Thanks so much for showing this pattern

Such a neat tutorial.....your cool, calm voice as you point out the stitches won't drop off....I've been knitting for 60 years and never had the courage to do that....thanks....I might even go back and try the toe up socks, as I've never been comfortable with the diferrent cast ons...just can't get my head around them. Bet you can teach me!

How cool is that? Looks like they don't pucker in as much, either. Plus, if you're knitting on a plane or in a car, you don't need to worry about taking or dropping cable needles! Thank you!

You would do the dropping on the purlside -- so, turn, and begin purling. When you get to the double loops, do as she does and drop that extra yo stitch. Then continue. Turn. Now, on the knit side you will do the cabling (just as she does it. So the only difference is that you turn, and do the dropping on the purlside; then do the cabling on the following knit side.

She was knitting a pair of socks in the round. On toe-up socks, you do the top of the sock in pattern and the sole of the sock is just knit across. I would guess if you're knitting a flat piece that you would purl back. I guess we need to wait and see if she replies.

I really like this video, but I don't quite understand what you do on the purl side. You said you "knit across the back". Do you purl through both double loops? When I tried a test sample of this, purling through both loops didn't work and just sliding the yarn over didn't work either. Please help.

Tricky one and set me thinking. The video description would only work when knitting in the round, as the double-loop row is first worked on the right-side row, and on the next round (in circular knitting this would also be a right-side) the mellow cable is then made. However, in flat knitting you are producing a right-side knit row and a wrong-side purl row, so to get back to the beginning of the knit row, one needs to purl across and you cannot purl or simply slip the long loops as it just doesn't work. Try it on a sample and you'll see what I mean. A solution may be to just do the double looping thing on the purl-side or wrong side row and then fashion the mellow cable on the next right-side row. I know this is replying to comments made 4 years ago…..but hey ho! It may still help someone.

I believe she is knitting in the round.. the other side of the sock is just plain knit stitch
