Growing up as a young latina I was so ashamed of the imaginative, gothic, and mystical parts of myself. I don't know why, social stigma. But it's the works of Guillermo del Toro and Melanie Martinez that I felt seen and heard as an adult now. Their art speaks to the fairy tales and imagination and culture I held close to my heart.
