tunnel vision is all about being manipulated, and that is what melanie perfectly portrayed in this music video - the whole time, she’s being told what to do, and everything good that happens is taken away like “fill their cup, take it away” or “give them flowers, take it away” and then the reference to crybaby and the tears fill up the room is reflecting on how hard it is to put up with the pressure of doing everything right and making she no one is upset, yet still, people will “call them a bitch for being human.”

When analyzing the clip, we can see that it is about the criticism and positive comments that her "fans" made about her appearance and her new style. Throughout the MV we notice small hearts that appear on the screen as everything progresses, as if they were stages in a game. In each heart there are different phrases that the player dictated during the game, as if he wanted to have control of the main character and do whatever he sees fit. Example: "Saying she's demonic." Many fans judged her due to her recent new look. Making unnecessary jokes and even stopping following along. "Give her long hair." After Melanie cut her hair, many fans didn't like it and again judged her for it. "Make her thin and tall." Some fans even made cruel jokes about her weight (Trying to import a standard that they thought was better.) "Make her smile all the time." Maybe this is because she no longer performs her shows without her mask. "Chase her to take a picture." Many people took photos and even went so far as to chase her to get a photograph, which made her uncomfortable. "You made me very upset." Your disappointment with the fans. In the end, the game ends after the player doesn't get what they wanted. However, you can see that the clip is about how far Melanie has gone before her career. The comments, judgments made frustrated and discouraged with their own success. We need to learn that she has her own choices, and if that makes her comfortable, we, as fans, should accept what makes her better. the clip is great, you did well Mel 🎀💗

This is a great analytical review of the video but we should remember that these songs were written long before she even released her creature appearance to us. One of my favorite thing about Melanie is the multiple ways her music can be interpreted. But I do think she often references his the fans and the industry expect so much from her and give nothing in return. Like show and tell and numbers

This music video is so cool, the portals mvs just keep getting better. I loved the video game aesthetic and how the hearts she sent people are in the music video and create a story. I also liked how the little girl at the end represents the childish fans and internet users who choose to do everything that the heart stones say. The vibes and visual effects are amazing and so high quality. This mv made me realize that tunnel vision is about the general public objectifying Melanie rather than just men in her life. It's directed toward people who only see her as a celebrity or a sex doll rather than an actual human.

I just am so in love with the way she shows how some artists are treated. Tunnel vision is my most anticipated music video for portals, I had so many ideas for what it could be, and this completely blew it all away, simply stuning, so visually consistent and mature in its mesage and delivery. Creo que todos nos tomamos muy a la ligera el trabajo de Mel, literalmente EL MV ES INCREÍBLE EN TODO ,edición, escenario,coreografía,inclusive la calidad,es genial y me lleva a otro mundo cuando lo veo,puedo decir que esto es el arte más hermoso que he visto en años ,se nota la dedicación de Mel por dar algo de calidad

I'm surprised there's still creativity left in the music industry. It's rare to see artists experiment with different ideas knowing there's a greater risk of getting called weird, stupid or cringy. But this is what's needed rather than some brain rotten so called 'aritists' with twerking videos. Music wise the production was amazing. I didn't realise she had good songs like these. And I'm blown away by how visually stunning this is. To keep its significance i hope this is the only album she'll keep this vibe with cause this is one of a kind that i'll look back to see its uniqueness.

i think this kind of brand is really made for mel. she's the only artist that can effectively retell stories that are unlikely to be retold in a creative and enticing way (e.g.. nursery rhymes, menstruation, male gaze, etc.). i honestly think it's not weird. if anything, i think it's transformational to the point of paving the way for other artists to explore and push their boundaries into creating more creative music.

@@GabCoelhoMusic oh yeah definitely. there's nothing wrong with twerking but artists who made it their whole personality instead of focusing more on the music or not trying anything whole new is just sad. what's worse is that those stuff sell better so can't really blame an artist for trying get the bigger cash bag but it's still just sad. So i really appreciate Melanie's work here.
