Formed in the late 1980s, the band caught the attention of Gene Simmons on his newfound label Simmons Records that was operating through RCA. Gypsy Rose was considered as a promising star on the Canadian rock n roll scene. Though the band was short-lived, this epic name has been remembered.
Gypsy Rose's debut "Prey (1990)" was known and popular among the fan base, but not everyone knows the predecessor of the band and the early demos recorded before Gypsy Rose's debut. The year 2018 saw two great compilations come out, including the lost 1980s demos recorded by the predecessor of Gypsy Rose. This early band is called "Secret Affair" with three founding members of the post-Gypsy Rose.
