Please note that the video shows MelodicFlow 1.0. The Advanced mode of the current MelodicFlow version works exactly the same way, though.

Not at all to derail the discussion, but to perhaps inspire those seeking "easy money" in the use of such tools as this................ every little bit of music theory available while creating melodies and harmonies is like a master key to a thousand locks....... you don't need to know classical/jazz theory in its entirety, but get comfortable to the point of intuitive thinking. I was totally immersed in music from birth; my father was a legendary jazz bassist and also a walking encyclopedia of classical and jazz theory. I learned tons from him, but greatest gift of all was analytical listening....... but still had holes in my knowledge. Needing a certain number of credit hours in Humanities, I chose "Fundamentals of Music 101"; of course I could have seen it as an easy "A" for the course, but I decided that on day 1 of that semester, I arrived an empty vessel....... didn't know "scale degree" from "temperature", etc. That proved to be one of my life's (few but effective) greatest decisions :) My composing abilities went vertical (in the positive), as also did my ability to play melodically simply knowing the key of the song. Conversely, though, a robust grip on music theory can get under your feet when it's improvisation time....... I'm an example; I have wished at times I could switch off my theory banks and just PLAY.

I just wanted to ask if you could add a "chord progression" companion plugin that Melowdic Flow can instantly recognize, it shouldn't produce sound. It just needs to communicate MIDI data to the main Plugin. I should paste/drop a MIDI chord progression on the companion plugin(set and forget) and play the entire MIDI keyboard of 88 keys and not just the keys on the right side of the MIDI keyboard.

Some Daw's like mine cannot connect to a midi effect. I could use Blue Cat but the melody will have to go on the same track as the chords. Maybe on an update you can have the plug-in itself import the chords so you can play the melody. I use Maschine. We are just now getting Vst 3 support. We are lagging behind.

Great plugin! I like it a lot. A very important question. I've noticed in your video you were only using simple triads or 3 note chords as your trigger chords. Is it because your plugin is unable to recognize more complicated chords? For example 7th and 9th chords that are made up of 4 or 5 notes?
@feelyoursoundHQ
@feelyoursoundHQ 7 жыл бұрын
Hi vitaali, you can use any chords that you like! I used triads here, because they were "enough" for the example song. But any chord will do :). You can download the demo here: feelyoursound.com/melodicflow

Mmmhh.. if you work with a sampler with choir sounds, it should work. Depends on the sample library, though.

Hi all, I'm having trouble configuring Melodic Flow (trial mode) in Studio One 4 on Windows 10. I've followed the steps in the manual but I can't sort that out.

How to connect this plugin with Reason studios plugins?
@feelyoursoundHQ
@feelyoursoundHQ 2 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, Reason still doesn't support MIDI plug-ins. You will need to use a wrapper like BlueCat's PatchWork for this. You can find a PatchWork setup guide at feelyoursound.com/melodicflow-manual/#setup

One thing is unclear to me about this plugin. In the demo video in every example with your right hand you were playing white notes that revolve around the C major chord. You said the first note which is C will be the first bass note, D will be the 2nd bass note and so on. What if I want to play A minor chord melody, not C major. When I play with the right hand A then C and then E, I don't want the C to trigger the first bass note. I want the A to be the first bass note. Is that possible to achieve? Also, can I use midi clips instead of playing with the right hand? And what happens if I play accidental black notes in my right hand melody? Thanks for the answers.
@feelyoursoundHQ
@feelyoursoundHQ 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Vitaali, the white keys of the right hand will ALWAYS work the same way when you use MelodicFlow: the C will play the first chord note (or scale note, when the mode is set to "scale"), the D will be the second note, and so on. This is useful, because it will allow you to create a melodic rhythm that you don't have to transpose up or down when you change the chords or the scale. If you want to play an A Minor melody, you will have to set the mode to "Scale", then set the scale to "A Minor", and then play on the upper white keys (C = A, D = B, and so on).It is not possible to reconfigure MelodicFlow in such a way that the upper A is the first bass note. Regarding MIDI clips: Yes, this is possible! This is how I use MelodicFlow most of the time :). Black keys: The black keys of the upper range have special meanings. Please take a look at the manual to find out more: feelyoursound.com/melodicflow-manual/ Cheers, Hauke of FeelYourSound

might be a technical reason the decision - suggestion just follow what Ezkeys did as with reading midi notes from other tracks :-)

I get what you're saying, BUT there is a point where fluency in music theory can actually get in the way of creative flow, interfering with the intuitive and even the ear. I was bandleader for 14 years and extremely lucky to have had the players I did........ the keyboardist was quite fluent in theory but he'd toss in an embellished chord that was downright awful. I'd ask him if he could NOT toss in that embellishment; his answer was consistently "well......... THEORETICALLY it works!!!!" I could only respond, "Yeah, well, EAR-etically it DOESN'T.......".
@mariojosepr
@mariojosepr 2 жыл бұрын
@@oneworld9071 I agree with that. Music theory can be a pain sometimes, and it does get in the way, but people should learn basics and not have a piece of software do it for them.
