Probably one of the least interesting years of Melodifestivalen. 1:22 Nick Borgen is actually born In Norway but in a previous entry in 93 did he sing the song "We are all the winners" which was a mega hit here in Sweden. He's also the guy behind the song "Den glider in" which is well known by Swedish hockey fans as he recorded it together with the national team when World Cup was held in Sweden in 95. 1:38 Andreas Lundstedt, Mr Alcazar doesn't really need any introduction.

Also worthy to point out is that Cajsalisa Ejemyr’s song was written by Robyn (yes, the famous Swedish artist)

Good national final, but wrong winner. Photogenique would have been the best choice. I know the performance wasn't good, but it's current for 1997 and was written by one of the members of Ace of Base. 0 is harsh. N-Mix is 1996 sans charisma. Andreas Lundstedt had a good song, a bit George Michael esque. Garmana would have been perfect - very typical Swedish folk and stood out. Cajsalisa as mentioned written by Robyn and again would have done well especially with the televoting countries. Very well produced and contemporary.

Quite a few entries were so much better than the actual winner. My favourite were En gång ska han gråta with Garmarna.
