There's really something great about this combination of Mansoor and Naveed reacting to videos together. Their personalities really balance each other well. Naveed is more of a talkative guy and Mansoor gives very careful thought to his words before saying them, but each of them make excellent comments and offers very good insight to what they're experiencing together. They match very well for this type of reaction! You've got a winning combination here! 💛🕊

I know a man that does that rock climbing stuff. He would show me some of the exercises he did to keep in good enough physical condition to do it. Exercises like "fingertip pull ups and curls", where he actually did pull ups with just his finger tips. The "fingertip curls" are where he would hang from the tips of his fingers and close his hand. He only moved about an inch.

Where he asks about how the cameraman is shooting this. That was Half Dome, which Alex had previously free soloed, and he did it again for National Geographic with Jimmy Chin videotaping and photographing it. Jimmy is a top class mountaineer and climber himself.

Funny to hear them assume he is wearing shoes to make it more difficult lol, the shoes were made for climbing and help grip.

No mistakes allowed. Even with perfect condition physical and mental, with preparation and experience, you still tease your guardian angel and roll a dice. To some extent it is comparable to addiction, in such situation human body overdopes itself by various hormones, self-preservation reflexes (it might contradict the concept itself). For example adrenaline (thrill hormone and also aggresive), dopamine (focus hormone also good feelings), cortisol (one of the most powerful, stress hormone) and others. Still this is oversimplified, I am no medical specialist.

At 10:45, he's actually just having a rest! Using a foot jam to hang upside down and rest his arms, you see him massage his legs too (this particular move is called a bat hang!)

Wish a little bit of context was given before they watched it (explaining that Alex takes free soloing very seriously and climbs the route with a rope beforehand to practice before he goes without a rope). Still a great video anyways!

This man is crazy as hell lol! Nope! We call folks who do these types of dangerous things for hobbies "adrenaline junkies". The danger is part of the adrenaline rush I guess. Makes no sense to me but live and let live.

I'm with you Naveed, I don't like insecure heights either including ladders and long staircases. On the other hand I love Rides at the Show (Fair) because they have plenty of safety devices. So long is it does not turn me upside down then I get scared. I usually avoid those rides.

i've gone to climbing gyms and was scared of being only 30 feet above the mats, haha...i could never do this

Have them react to "Japan's reigning world champion Kaori Sakamoto wins her first skate America title / Eurosport" on the Eurosport channel. Competitors accumulate points based on the degree of difficulty (base value) of each technical element and how well each element is executed (grade of execution, or GOE). Skaters also earn points based on their overall skating ability and performance level through program component scores. You'll hear the crowd cheer whenever she has successly achived a technical element.
