A collaboration with the podcast Twenty Thousand Hertz: 20k.org
Soundtrack: melodysheep.ba... | Space is more than just a feast for the eyes. It’s a feast for the ears. You just have to know where -- and when -- to look.
Floating in the silent void of space are trillions of islands of sound, each with their own sonic flavor -- some eerily familiar, some wildly different than Earth’s. And even space itself was once brimming with sound.
This short film takes you on a journey back in time and to the edge of our solar system and beyond, to discover what other worlds of sound are lurking beyond Earth's atmosphere. You won't believe your ears :)

@@VoidLantadd not really, it couldn't be hell for other aliens, like in movies, since there is no life without enough oxygen/azot/hydrogen and anything that is composing our breathable air and without water, with minerals in it, so technically what they are saying is correct, any living being in the universe could live on earth, maybe not everywhere like us, it can be underwater, close to vulcanos, or even in mountains. i might be wrong so if you want to correct me it'll be appreciated since my english sucks and i'm not good at science :')
@VoidLantadd

@@adiyn_ there could be a species that breathes a gas that isn't common on Earth, and so they would suffocate in Earth's atmosphere. Or perhaps they evolved in a different atmospheric pressure, and wouldn't function on Earth. There are plenty of ways Earth could be hell for alien life. Another one featured in Mass Effect, depending on how life works on their planet, all plants and animals on Earth might be toxic for them to eat.

that shot of the little astronaut falling through jupiter was both enrapturing and absolutely horrifying. it’s silly but i find the gas giants to be terrifying, the idea that you could just sink and sink to the center and never get out makes my skin crawl. it reminds me of the sensation i get when i look at water, i could just sink to the bottom and never be found again. i dunno man, you just tapped into a very specific and outlandish fear of mine-

I just absolutely LOVE melodysheep's videos, they really convey the wonders of the universe, they tell us our own role in the grand scheme of things and most of all, they look and sound absolutely fascinating. Thank you for all your hard work making these videos and even more, for sharing them with us!

5% ? Where is that number from ? Or better, who pulled that out of his arse ?
@Arsenic71
@Arsenic71 Жыл бұрын
@@connycontainer9459 5% of the universe is visible matter, i.e. stuff made of the particles we know, the Standard Model. Then there is dark matter, we have no idea what it is made of, but we know it interacts via gravity and about 3/4 of the universe is Dark Energy, which is responsible for the accelerated expansion of the universe. Right now we don't even have the slightest idea what that really is. It's common knowledge that we only understand a tiny fraction of the universe and "traditional matter" (i.e. stuff we understand) only makes about 5-6% of everything there is.

“You’re hearing the first sounds ever created” you know, I’d really love to hear it if the sci fi music wasn’t blasting. Take it from Ghibli’s Miyazaki... you do not need to have music every moment of a film or a video, ESPECIALLY for something like this where we want to actually hear the sounds untainted by talking or music WHILE they’re fucking playing. I don’t know, pet peeve.

This was simply beautiful. From the incredible vfx, to the audio mixing, panning and overall sound, to the very detailed explanations and visual demonstrations, it all looks and sounds amazing. The only tiny criticism I can say, which I saw was pointed out by another user, Ryan, is that in certain parts of the video, the music should've been lowered significantly or perhaps removed completely for a few seconds so that the viewer can hear those distinct sounds which the presenter wanted us to focus on, and it can create a very visceral feeling of everything going silent and only hearing those eerie or wonderful sounds of space. And that effect was used phenomenally to close out the video. But as I said, this was beautiful :)

Please be patient and read it to the end, it will completely change your life In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. 1. Qaf. By the Glorious Quran. 2. They marveled that a warner has come to them from among them. The disbelievers say, "This is something strange. 3. When we have died and become dust? This is a farfetched return." 4. We know what the earth consumes of them, and with Us is a comprehensive book. 5. But they denied the truth when it has come to them, so they are in a confused state. 6. Have they not observed the sky above them, how We constructed it, and decorated it, and it has no cracks? 7. And the earth, how We spread it out, and set on it mountains, and grew in it all kinds of delightful pairs? 8. A lesson and a reminder for every penitent worshiper. 9. And We brought down from the sky blessed water, and produced with it gardens and grain to harvest. 10. And the soaring palm trees, with clustered dates. 11. As sustenance for the servants. And We revive thereby a dead town. Likewise is the resurrection. 12. Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, and so did the dwellers of Russ, and Thamood. 13. And Aad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot. 14. And the Dwellers of the Woods, and the people of Tubba. They all rejected the messengers, so My threat came true. 15. Were We fatigued by the first creation? But they are in doubt of a new creation. 16. We created the human being, and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 17. As the two receivers receive, seated to the right and to the left. 18. Not a word does he utter, but there is a watcher by him, ready. 19. The daze of death has come in truth: "This is what you tried to evade." 20. And the Trumpet is blown: "This is the Promised Day." 21. And every soul will come forward, accompanied by a driver and a witness. 22. "You were in neglect of this, so We lifted your screen from you, and your vision today is keen." 23. And His escort will say, "This is what I have ready with me." 24. "Throw into Hell every stubborn disbeliever. 25. Preventer of good, aggressor, doubter. 26. Who fabricated another god with God; toss him into the intense agony." 27. His escort will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him rebel, but he was far astray." 28. He will say, "Do not feud in My presence-I had warned you in advance. 29. The decree from Me will not be changed, and I am not unjust to the servants." 30. On the Day when We will say to Hell, "Are you full?" And it will say, "Are there any more?" 31. And Paradise will be brought closer to the pious, not far away. 32. "This is what you were promised-for every careful penitent. 33. Who inwardly feared the Most Gracious, and came with a repentant heart. 34. Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity." 35. Therein they will have whatever they desire-and We have even more. 36. How many generations before them, who were more powerful than they, did We destroy? They explored the lands-was there any escape? 37. In that is a reminder for whoever possesses a heart, or cares to listen and witness. 38. We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, and no fatigue touched Us. 39. So endure what they say, and proclaim the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before sunset. 40. And glorify Him during the night, and at the end of devotions. 41. And listen for the Day when the caller calls from a nearby place. 42. The Day when they will hear the Shout in all truth. That is the Day of Emergence. 43. It is We who control life and death, and to Us is the destination. 44. The Day when the earth will crack for them at once. That is an easy gathering for Us. 45. We are fully aware of what they say, and you are not a dictator over them. So remind by the Quran whoever fears My warning. www.quranwow.com

This does such an amazing job at making people marvel at the wonders of space. From here on earth it’s sometimes hard to even imagine the scale of the universe truly and fully. But these stunning animations and brilliant musical composition as well as (sound) evoke such amazing feelings. When the piano was played I almost lost it and checked out as a human being I was just like WOW what an amazing feeling that would be. To think that the creators of this thought to make a full blown song to mimic what you would actually hear is just. Wow. Amazing. The universe is a dangerous and wonderful place. Stunning. I honestly feel like I should be paying for these so definitely going to support on patrion. What an experience every single video is dude. Wow.

The Earth at the beginning was uninhabitable too, far from the "perfection", but NOW everything is perfect because the life adapted to theese conditions, and consequently evolved for millions of years. Also our idea of "perfect conditions" is molded by our human vison of the world, so maybe almost every planet is habitable, just not for the human species, who needs a certain temperature, pressure, atmosphere and water to survive. Maybe even on Naptune there could be life forms, but very different from the human beings, who could survive on theese conditions compared to us. Anyway i'm not a scientist, it's just my theory and i could be wrong, but it's impossible that we are alone, the universe it's so big and the Earth can't be just a coincidence.
