The reason intelligent life is unlikely to be anything other than carbon-based is because carbon naturally forms bonds with up to four other atoms simultaneously. No other organic molecules does so naturally and maintains stable bonds while doing so. This makes it perfect for forming long, complex bonds necessary for molecules like proteins, amino acids, and eventually RNA/DNA. Life and evolution follow the path of least resistance. Edit: Literally as soon as I posted this "Silicon" just popped up on the screen. I just know my point is about to get dismantled 😂

My only complaint about this video is the weird bonds that are made in some of the animations, for the most part when going into detail the diagrams and stuff are correct but sometimes theres just weird shapes on the molecular scale that make no sense. Anyway, if I was a kid I wouldn't know that that was wrong and I'd think it'd look cooler than the more real structures.

That was amazing! I love some of the small details like the caption effects. I had to rewind to make sure I wasn't hallucinating lol. Super cool. Fine tuning the small details, that goes to show just how much passion and dedication goes into your work. So much thought-provoking content. Imagine where humanity as a whole might be if we (and in particular those who are most 'successful') weren't always so busy fighting amongst ourselves... We could already be out there, with synthetic life of our own, exploring the universe far beyond our current capabilities. Makes me want to play No Man's Sky or watch Lost In Space again... Heh. Distractions. An issue just the same. Thanks for sharing this, and the many hours spent creating. Even though I don't have much, I would love to donate to your efforts.

It's criminal that Netflix has not approached this man for a series of his own.

Frankly, this is perhaps the most fascinating video I have ever seen on KZbin. Well-written, inspiring, visually stunning, imaginative, high-quality animation and audio. You have set new standards for educational content in SL.
