I'm not ignorant to the fact that there is a difference between Korean culture, Chinese culture and Japanese Culture. "Idol" is such an inclusive song it includes African music, costumes, and dances . It also includes middle eastern music,and dance as well. Is it so far off that BTS would include different influences from neighboring Asian cultures ? So when I saw the Traditional wardrobe it did not look like a Traditional Korean hanbok. It wasn't intential or to lump all Asians into one general category. I'm assuming this is your first time watching our video because the fact that you posted this comment you REALLY DON'T KNOW US.

LeederTimeProductions I am offended when people misjudged my intentions. It’s not WHAT you say it’s HOW you say it. My REACTION is due to my knowledge of IDOL and the background of IDOL’S MEANING, NOT KOREAN CULTURE. IDOL included MULTIPLE CULTURE FROM AROUND THE WORLD. SO WHEN I I SAW THE DANCES I DID NOT THINK OF ONLY KOREAN CULTURE. I THOUGHT OF ALL ASIAN CULTURES WHICH IS THE FOUNDATION OF THE SONG IDOL. I’m not comparing KOREAN CULTURE to ANY OTHER CULTURE. I NEVER said I knew everything about Korean culture and you should not insinuate that I said that. I hope YOU take what I say seriously and appreciate when I say I RESPECT ALL CULTURES.

Well, it is just sad that something traditional Asian hits you immediately "Chinese" or "Japanese" and that is not your fault. Korea was so poor and powerless after Japanese colonization and Korean war, and no other countries were interested in Korea. That's why we Koreans struggled and worked hard for last 50 years to promote something "Korean." And that's why we are so proud of BTS. And I understand that there were no mall intention, and people being mad are just ignorant. It is not really something pleasant to hear, but it doesn't mean you should be blamed. They should just inform you nicely. Thanks for liking BTS, and I hope BTS's endeavor this time has triggered your interest in Korea itself too. Cheers.

The instrument played on J-Hope's stage is sam-go-moo, a traditional Korean instrument. Jimin's stage is the traditional Korean dance, the fan-dance. The stage of Jungkook is mask-dance, a traditional Korean dance. Koreans want to promote Korean culture.And any country person will want to promote their culture and have pride. There are many different elements of Idol MV, such as Africa, besides Korea. However, the recent mma idol intro shows the traditional culture of Korea. Countries in Asia such as China, Japan, and Korea can look similar because they are influenced by each other's culture. But they each have their own culture clearly.And we want to promote Korean culture so that many people in the world do not get confused. Thank you for the reaction!사랑해요💜💜

고소한율무 Thank you for explaining it. My reaction was solely on my background of the song idol and the various cultural influences that BTS used. So when I said those different cultures I was I assumed that BTS was including ALL ASIAN CULTURES. I was not in anytime insinuating that BTS was not embracing their Korean culture. I was ONLY THINKING OF THE SONG IDOL and how inclusive it was to other cultures.

예전에 비하면 점점 좋아질꺼라 생각합니다. 사실상 얼마전 까지만해도 아시아 하면 중국 아니면 일본뿐이 모르던 시대가 있었는데 ㅋㅋ 이젠 아시아에선 확실히 말할수 있는 건 한국 모르면 간첩이고 유럽쪽도 생각보다 빨리 퍼지고 있으면 미국쪽은 워낙 자국문화 팝이 강세인 지역이라... 그래도 그런곳에서 이정도면 대단한겁니다. 다른거 다 떠나서 한국이 어디에 붙어있는지 몰랐던 시대를 넘어 이젠 트랜드의 한부분을 한국이 이끌어가고 있습니다. 아무리 왜곡을 해도 결국 다 들통나게 되어있고 나중에 왜곡했던 인간들이 더 치졸한 인간.나라로 낙인 찍히게 될거라 생각합니다.

I’m sorry there isn’t as much Korean cultural exposure in the USA as other Asian cultures otherwise we would known it was traditional korean dance and music ,But I was NOT IN ANY WAY SAYING THAT ALL ASIAN CULTURES ARE THE SAME. I was basing my reaction ONLY OFF OF THE IDOL SONG. BTS is all about loving yourself and inclusion and peace. I know they are proud of their Korean heritage BUT I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS A KOREAN TRADITIONAL DANCE AND MUSIC. IM THINKING “BTS IS DOING IDOL, IDOL USED MULTIPLE CULTURAL MUSIC AND DANCING, THEY ARE PERFORMING AT THE MELON AWARDS MAYBE THEY ARE INCLUDING MULTIPLE ASIAN CULTURES” This is a a initial reaction I haven’t watched the performances before so that was my thoughts. FYI in case it isn't said in other responses (haven't made it through all of them yet), the 'theme' of MMA2018 encouraged the artists to tell their story, to perform in a meaningful way that shows who they are. Leave it to BTS to go full on traditional Korean as part of their stage. So proud of them. Yes, they are all inclusive, but it was nice to hear and see the full Korean influence in this particular setting, including rearranging the music for IDOL with traditional Korean instruments. Most of the other performers did not seem to really do much with the theme, but ya know how professional BTS is and how they like to get it right. So proud of them. Thank you for your reactions. I did not take it as ignorant or mean at all and so sorry other people went there. As RM says, "Haters gonna hate, and Players gonna play" I appreciate those who attempted to educate/inform in a positive way. #LoveYourself #LoveMyself :0)

Some of idol mv n move take inspiration from traditional Korean n othe culture so their MMA performance bring in korean cultural flavor. Honestly all Asian culture influence one to another even though there is different. Still all culture us deeply appreciate n something valuable to be proud of n pass on from one generation to another. And I think they give you simple information or tip or answer to your question or comment, not criticism. Thanks for your enjoyable reaction video~ I love this. BTS is on the way to find out who they are and what they are from for the answer of LOVE YOURSELF. Maybe this performance can be the very beginning of WHO ARE YOU, the next album. Hip hop culture and western pop gave big influence on K pop but from now on K pop idols should remember that they are also the heir of Korean traditional culture as new generation.

RM has followed hip hop artists that was out way before his time but he still respected, appreciated, and included their musical influence in their music.
