It kinda doesn't matter if the cover art is canon, because the running joke is that Sanji is ALWAYS lying when he says stuff like this! For example, he keeps saying he only rescues women, but he saved Usopp AND Nami from Enel, he immediately left Nami with Franky to help Usopp and a wounded Zoro when they were threatened by the Pacifista in Sabaody. Likewise, the truth slips out sometimes, like in Whole Cake Island where the gang are talking about crashing the wedding and he's like "No, I don't want to put you guy...uh...I mean NAMI in danger!"

One neat detail I like from this chapter, is when the man they met tells them that there are fierce warriors guarding the sun god’s temple, and then Luffy runs towards another person and revealing it is a mirror… those people were referring to themselves as fierce warriors! They scared themselves away! I love that!!

I think the "sun god" is Loki. As in the Loki that Lola was supposed to marry, the giant prince of Elbaf. IRL myth Loki is often depicted with horns (ie: MCU Loki) or antlers (there was some horror movie from 2016 set in Norway or some shit up there, it had some horrid elk elder god thing that was, irrc, the spawn of Loki, I think it was called "The Ritual"), has many animals associated with them including a giant snake (Jormungandr, the World Serpent; in most versions, he is also Loki's spawn), and sometimes is described as being able to change genders (and also sometimes shapeshift, he has a few notable animal children) or being depicted as effeminate (a lot of people think the sun god here is a woman because they're very skinny, especially for a giant assuming they are one, and are wearing what look like heels). Also, a scheming, controlling, maybe a bit foppish, man-child giant prince playing with their "toys" seems very in-line for nobility in One Piece. We also don't know what Loki actually looks like aside from a silhouette in an account told by Lola; which would not be the first time there's been a character shown like that only to look different in their official appearance.

If we can throw around outlandish theories, I'd like to propose that this could be Hinokizu's ship, the carrier of the final red Poneglyph. It's an all-black ship, explaining how he was able to sneak up on the giants' ship during the night. We're following the Straw Hat members that were part of the Alabasta arc because that's when they encountered their first Poneglyph, so it'd make sense that this is where they find the final, significant Poneglyph. A wild stretch, I know, but we gotta come across this guy at some point.

One thing that caught my eye was the fact that the door seems to look like an emboldened capital Z. There is a super high likely hood its just a door, but we do see a hallway with multiple doors that moose head walks through. If they all have their own letters than that means there are multiple enclosures that are sorted into groups. If so that means there's 25 more small groups of people wherever the strawhats are. Meaning this dude is a creepy scientist of sorts. Thats my theory

Luffy's new gear 5th design makes me wonder if it means Luffy is getting more control over gear 5th. before when creating new things like the goggles or the baseball helmet they haven't been permanent. I just noticed the tattoo of the grasshopper man that looks somewhat similar to the brand the sun pirates have. It's more intricate and only has 4 flares instead of 8, but it still pretty obviously resembles a sun. The staff of the fake sun god also got highlighted when he was walking past the door and has the 8 flares usually seen in images of the sun (counting the handle as one). I have no clue what literally any of this possibly could mean, but I'm throwin' all that into our playpile of interpretations, yknow

I wonder if the whole "shrunk down" stuff could be true. We know strong haki can undo devil fruit effects, and we've seen it happen to a body-change effect with how Law overcame the effect of the sickness fruit. At least the strong 3 should be able to undo it if Law can.

It would be a curve ball for sure. I just can't remember if that fruit already existed or not since its been like a million chapters so far. Your theory about sphinx is really intersting...we know that one piece is about to end "soon", with a huge and greater war than marine ford, so if they are there it would be nice to see them pay respects to the grave of Ace before the final arc, like in a way were they learnt what a war cost and they will do their best to avoid more casulties.

Great video! I agree that I don’t think we’re on Elbaf yet. For one, every time Oda tells we’re going to go somewhere, we never get there right away (ex: Fishman island, Wano, etc) 2 tho, the fake sun god looks a lot like the god knight standing behind Garling in Kunas flashback during Godvalley (ch 1096 or 97 i think?) I think sphinx island idea does make sense as it is close by, but I kinda hope it’s a new island we’ve never heard of before. Can’t wait to see what’ll happen!

The size of the giants is still so wildly inconsistent. compare this "sun god" giant who has a table big enough to be confused with a town to the giant that held up our little pinochio as if he was jesus and called him a god.

I mean, the biggest human in the series is Big Mom who's 8.8 meters, which is is like 4.4x the size of a 6'6 person (which is already big by normal standards), and even if you accept her as a unique case, lots of humans like whitebeard are over 3x the size of a regular human. So apply that to giants and you can see why there's such a variance.
