I went off social media for the month+ of Lent...I replaced my scroll time with watercolor painting... best thing I've ever done. I'm far more engaged in the world now. Just got back from a 6km hike up into the mountains. Things i didn't have "time" for previously.

I like to wear red, bright pink, and bright colours to the gym when exercising. The colours make me excited to exercise. I love exercising and I love life. My life has some sorrows like giving birth to a disabled child, having a husband with kidney disease, still waiting for a kidney transplant and me having a diagnosis of a mental disorder two years ago. I had brain surgery 2 years ago changing my mental disorder to one of a having a growth on my brain. I had brain surgery and the tumour was removed. I have changed my life now to one of joy and excitement. I have found colours and taking charge of my life has changed me to enjoy my life. I live in a small city in Canada where I walk everywhere to buy groceries, live beside a river, enjoy the beautiful countryside and enjoy my lifestyle. Thank you Mel! And your guest!

I did the same thing with the Eclipse, twice!! Drove 7 hours to my friend's home and we then drove another 3 hours south to capture 4 minutes of "magic". We also spent 6 hours hanging with butterflies a different day and we hike together whenever we get the chance. Next year the two of us are going to Alaska to chase the Aurora Borealis, ride a train, and soak in Hot Springs. I also walk around my yard barefoot almost daily [earthing] to receive the benefits of grounding and a silent mind. I absolutely love that I have found a way to disconnect from the mundane and absorb the awe of our surroundings and what nature provides us. My anxiety has nearly fully disappeared!!!

Stretching, moving, meditating at the end of the day, these are what help me feel relaxed and give me a good night's sleep, or doodling , colouring, drawing, research shows this also calms and relaxes the brain and helps with pain, anxiety, stress also. Build a happy little habit and it grows and helps you become motivated and more present ❤

As a marketer, I've studied colours and what comes to mind is that colour is often interpreted very differently around the world. For example, white in Western Society is associated with weddings, cleanliness, etc.; however, in some Asian cultures, white is quite the opposite: it represents death, for one.

Scrawling and iPhone is not always a bad thing. That is my favourite tool to go to when my narc husband goes into silent treatment for weeks. The internet is addiction to discontent. Which causes Divine discontent. Never ever satisfied always more & more until emptiness becomes noticeably boring if you notice at all. Discipline is the answer by deciding it’s just a tool for your work, school etc.. DECIDE! Why you utilize it as a purposeful too. Otherwise your choosing to dump yourself down. It’s a choice!!

Using screens even affects our eyesight, so when we go out in the real world we get headaches or light sensitivity as we've been focused on a light in close proximity. We become short sighted, the literal physical kind, although of course it's also a good analogy.

Don't let other people control ur emotions, I know it's hard, but it's not impossible. Maybe Don't go see ur mom for awhile, and see if she misses ur visits....if she asks why ur not visiting, have a honest conversation with her how it makes u feel when hee attention is on her phone and not you....if she cares about ur feelings she may see what ur saying is true and will try to get better. For you❤. She's ur mom and she should be able to focus on ur visit or maybe she doesn't need the visit? Idk. But I have 3 kids amd they are always looking on their phones when I'm around so I don't hang with them much anymore. I feel not important enough for their attention so why put myself In that situation that doesn't make me feel good. It's a 2 way street. We can choose how and who we spend our time with. Good luck and hope u can find a resolution.
