Reasons to keep ETH- - 3 finals in 2 years - 1 trophy ( potential of 2) - highest win rate since SAF - led us to a final during the club and leagues worst ever injury Crisis resulting in 65 injuries as of writing. - have never had a manager bring in so much youth and controlling it so well. Managing minutes etc. - during year 2 they have had 35+ different back lines,ZERO LB due to being misled by the medical staff. - ole got 2 and half years..... ETH in 10 months achieved more then ole did in his whole tenure. One big thing for me is despite the system problems. The following players have had their best individual seasons under ETH: -Dalot -Rashford - shaw - maguire back -Awb - garnacho brought in -kobbie brought in I think the whole ETH narrative is genuinely baffling. I don't get how a manager can be blamed when you have players who's head just combust in the last 15 mins of a game. There has never ever ever been a manager who has been given as little leeway as ETH at united. Not even mentioning all the situations ETH has had to deal with.... Ronaldo, sancho, greenwood, Antony, garnacho tweets, rashford on the piss weekly.... The whole pile on has actually shocked me as a united fan. Personally thought us as a fan base could sit back and be fair and honest. And I personally don't think that has happened. Who do we think we are? 3 finals in 2 years during a 60 injuries and having 35+ backlines and could result in 2 trophies..... lol okay. Give him the sack because the players keep conceding penalties and goals late. Yes ETH has massive system issues. But we could play out best team for 60 mins vs wolves and they were not there. Admittedly he shouldn't need his best team to fix that. But with so many backlines and injuries and bedding in a new gk I don't understand what can possibly happen. Especially when nobody has done it and actually stayed the same or improve. Eddie howe is used as an example.... are you serious... they are 4 places lower then they were last season. And they still haven't had more individual injuries then united. Equally haven't had to replace the backline so much. Crazy crazy crazy this whole situation
@crazedmonkey77038 ай бұрын
Is it that crazy when you consider the in game adjustments he makes, which have not been accretive in any capacity this season but damaging - the chnages yesterday after cov get a goal a prime example? starting this season with that 4-1-4-1 with mount/mctom rotating as advanced 8s with bruno and a single sitting midfielder was mental. And by all advanced metrics, this is certainly our worst defensive season post SAF and a lot of that can be attributed to ETH's structure with Onana the primary reason we're not sat in 10th in the league. And then you consider the transfer record (signing Antony for 100m and persisting with him over amad for one, Mount who clearly has little to no role to play given the two advanced 8s/10s just doesn't work). Casemiro another signing but would pin more so on the club and the lack of football infrastructure but the point still holds. You mention players having their best seasons but you couldn't hang your hat on any of those aforementioned players - all consistently inconsistent to varying degrees and that pattern has held true with eth. And then you consider the fractures in his man management with recent younger player social media activity reflecting discontent with his mgmt style (gana, amad etc and not to forget the unnecessary varane falling out mid season when we needed him). All the above points to change being needed in the dug out - we were able to hang our hat on rashford scoring 30 last season to paper over the cracks of that attack, but as demonstrated this season we've made little to nil progress in implementing any sort of steady state game plan.
@jacktroote87088 ай бұрын
@crazedmonkey7703 to add... personally I think us leaving ETH to see his contract out. Saving us X amount of millions and then hoping for better options In the manager market is a better option. Also gives backroom staff a whole year to set up certain structures and get use to XYZ. Think it's a perfect scenario. And if you get to Jan and he is still shocking then prepare for 6 months for a new manager and players that guy wants to bring in or get out. But I can't believe people are going to see their 6th manager at this club whilst winning no major trophies. Anyone over 5 managers should just be sold
@nellyb7438 ай бұрын
I think you're sincerely overestimating his quality as a manager based on what he's done. If it wasn't for Rashfors having a purple patch last season we would've been lucky to finish 7th. Comment above me made many excellent points. Even with the players underperforming and in general not being good enough, his management of them, his tactics and his in-game adjustments have left a lot to be desired. He did well at Ajax, absolutely, in a much inferior league, in the biggest team in the country, with a lot of quality help and already well established support around him. He's not the man to go forward with this team, even if Berrarda+ Ashworth+ Wilcox all manage to do outstanding jobs. Edited to add - Also, to reply to the players you listed: AWB has been useless under EtH and has shown consistently that he's not good at anything but 1v1 defending. Maguire's best season was under Ole when we went to the EUROPA league final. Shaw was good last season but his best season was also under Ole when he was in contention for the best defender at the 2021 EUROs. EtH gets credit for introducing Mainoo and Garnacho and helping them develop, sure, and Dalot has been better under him than other managers, but that, plus Rashford having a purple patch season, isn't enough to give him enough credit in the players development department.

I don‘t think that Forest going public with their statement is ridiculous. Considering how many huge refereeing errors we all witnessed during this season (feels like the most ever) I think it‘s time for the clubs to voice this problem the PL is having. I don‘t think it‘s right how much protection officials are getting. You should be able to voice your opinion in public to finally change something about the lack of qualitiy in this league. Especially when the erros are as huge as in this case. Just as an example: You‘re living in a country where the police is constantly making wrong arrests or don‘t even arrest the right criminals. Wouldn‘t you as a society go out and protest? You would want to let the public know that something is going wrong. It‘s an extreme example but the concept is the same. And in the case of Forest, I think it‘s fair to say, that something obviously went wrong. The only issue I‘m having with the statement is mentioning that the ref is a Luton fan. I don‘t think thats the right way to adress the problem but other than that I think it‘s the right move for the club. It‘s not against the spirit of the game. It‘s actually the complete opposite. So yeah, excuse my little rant but I had to let it out. I’m not a Forest fan btw.
@MagicalAces248 ай бұрын
I don't think it's that outrageous for Forrest to imply corruption. What's the alternative? That NO referee EVER (even unintentionally) let's unconscious bias effect their judgement? That's even more absurd in my opinion. Furthermore, Forrest are not saying the referee DID cheat, they are asking why PGMOL would even allow the chance of bias to exist by allowing someone who has a personal conflict of interest to officaite. Referees are way too protected from accusations of cheating. What decision would have to be so blatantly wrong for people to think there's something unfair going on? If you don't think 3 clear penalties passes that threshold, I don't know what will.

And while I get that there might be a question about how close Young was for the hand ball, his arm was making him bigger as he attempted to block a cross with his leg. Amorim not going to Liverpool or it looks like he isn't, may mean Liverpool and MU are fighting over the same managers. Liverpool may look like a better prospect right now with CL football next season pretty much assured and a decent academy in place, but Michael Edwards returning is bad news. Him and Klopp don't get on which means all of the current coaches are unlikely to ever return. And it doesn't bode well that managers don't seem to want to work with him. I’ve never been a Tuchel fan but the reality is he’s probably the most qualified candidate out of the ones mentioned. He’s won a CL with Chelsea and he’s won league titles in France and Germany and got to 2 CL finals. I’m actually warming to the idea of him coming to United and taking over from ETH if sacked as he will have the right tools in place to be successful - something which he has been everywhere he goes. He’s also a coach able to adapt to whatever is needed having played a variety of formations with different teams over the years. When you read up on him, there’s enough evidence to suggest he might just be the coach to come in and get it right with United.

Mate none of what you said really applies with the current Tuchel we see. If you think Ten Haag is rigid, try watching Bayern. His structure and play style is so rigid and lacks any sort of fluidity. If a team like Bayern can’t play the way he wants, I bet we’d be here in a year talking about how horrible his first season has been
@Eddie_theEagle8 ай бұрын
@@vasisht2012 I get as football and tactics are evolving at such a fast rate these days, perhaps Tuchel is falling behind somewhat in the current climate but what a coach has achieved at previous clubs goes a long way on whether a new club wants to approach or not. United wouldn’t be interested in him had he not had previous success. I don’t watch enough Bayern games to know how good or bad they are tactically but having won the Bundesliga last season and currently 2nd to a team that have come out of nowhere to go unbeaten, I think the criticism of him is harsh. Also, from what I’ve read, Bayern seem to be a disaster off the pitch (Naglesmann being a victim as well). The DOF has been sacked along with the rest of the directors board. Of course, this is what we seem to have with ETH at United, All I’m saying is IF they sack him, Tuchel should definitely be considered.
@vasisht20128 ай бұрын
@@Eddie_theEagle I get that sentiment. But considering the United fanbase (idk who you support really) and their over exaggerated love for flowing football, it’ll take less for them to turn on Tuchel.
