Helping One, Not Everyone

If I let you do it, I have to let everyone do it.
If I gave this to you, I'd have to give this to everyone. Sound familiar?
You may have grown up hearing this from your teachers, parents, or coaches. They tried to be fair. So, the question is - is it more important to be fair or to do good?

My favorite sermon of all time. I found my "one" in 2013. I invested time and money. In 2019, he became my husband and the love of my life. He was my best friend in the whole world. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, but he died tragically and suddenly this year of leukemia. :( I've never been so broken and devastated in my entire life. I don't think I will ever recover from such a crushing loss... but I am glad that I did get to make a difference in his life... even if it was cut really short. He was the best part of my entire life.

Just started listening. As I believe, awareness is the key... Heart felt awareness placed in your heart as a GIFT. Seeing is believing in many cases. Often a photo will bring out your heart's love. If you ARE a Christ follower, the need always overcomes fear, financial risk, time, etc. again, it's a HEART THING. Spiritual miracle that swells inside you ! To pray ? Yes. Better yet as James says, action is evidence of your spiritual saved heart. Help everyone ? Only if you were perfect.

Today, is Sunday 6/10 and I went to church at 9:30 am then 4:00 pm. I did not give in the offering only a small bit of change, When I left church at 5:00 p.m. I gave another homeless man $20.00 on the street corner near the church. The Lord told me to help him. Whatever you sow you reap. Just remember that.

I'm a bit of a sucker when it comes to beggars or those that claim to be homeless. I would rather give all the time, with the chance that I may be taken by a false claim. I feel better about it.

Yesterday, I was praying in the Casco Bay area in Portland, Maine it was really beautiful there, and I said: "Lord I would like to help a homeless person today". A few hours later a black man in the downtown area was ready to pick out of the garbage for food. I said to him, "Do you need something to eat"? He said Yes. I went into the trunk of my car and gave him Progresso Soup/Clam Chowder. He said thank you and walked away, It wasn't much but at least he did not have to eat out of the garbage.

I have a few questions: I did not read anywhere in the Bible, or examples you gave to only do for one. I do understand that we can't do for all but Jesus did not just go deep, he went WIDE! Disciples were deep, all the other accounts in the gospels were wide! The example you gave for a teacher only doing for one? The student needs to learn to be selfless, not selfish! I've never heard of this kind of preaching! Only baptizing for one friend but refusing the rest? I've never heard of a preacher doing that before! I've been to services that the preacher asked if there was anyone else that needed baptizing because they rejoiced in the Lords gain! God's not fair??? Please, explain! Do you know God's plan and why he does what he does? Isaiah 55:8, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways." Also, Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." You also used an example of helping others in their marriage even if yours "isn't so hot!" Is that not contradictory of Matthew 7:5? "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote of thy brother's eye." And... "Go time, not JUST money"????? Time would be baptizing all the people you said you would deny... Also, 1 Timothy 6:10 Jesus said the Lord would provide countless times, especially when his disciples would worry. For example, Matthew 6:25-34! Matthew 6:33 Proverbs 10:3 Philippians 4:6 Hebrews 11:6 Also, why would you have to state that you're not making fun of people as you laugh when talking about them? When introducing Jane and the fact that she wanted to talk why would you make it seem as though you didn't seem interested in talking with her and had better things to do? You're calloused? You were just preaching on not growing weary of doing good! You told Jane she would be redeemed by God, but you just told the world God's not fair. You didn't want to be around Jane's "men hater" group? Jane had to compromise by bringing other men in to make you feel comfortable? What kind of Man of God would not take this opportunity with a glad heart? How disheartening to hear them called "man haters" when they've been through such trauma. Listen, if you're going to get in someones corner. Don't bring in your clutter with it because the corner you're getting into is already cluttered. Unclutter your own corner and be the example to help him.

People get paid professionally to do this. They study and mastered this trade. In my time i have asked christians and non christians for help. It don't work this way. The good samaritan helped a man robbed and half beaten to dead. He didn't help the foolish guy who got beaten and left for dead bc of the money he stole. You play stupid games you win stupid prizes. Every body is worthy of salvation and christ. If you believe somebody is not. Your judging. But when it come to don't get wisdom and judging misunderstood. Im tired of a religion that say be Christ Like. No body is like Christ. Thats why he is christ. His life was plan before birth. He pick judas and every disciple he had. Knowing he would be betrayed. Quit trying to be him and honor him for being the lamb of God. In old testament the jews sacrificed animals for the wage of sin. You can not give back to God what he put on this earth for you. He gave his own son free of charge. To prove his love for us. Merry Christmas
