from a 50 plus lady getting used to youtube this song transported me back over 40 years ago when my wonderful gentle sicilian mother would sing me this song.I waslistening to this in my kitchen and i felt her right there in the kitchen with me.

il testo riportato non è completo, manca la seconda strofa: S'ode un suono ma non è più la campana della chiesetta è il silenzio della sera che pian pian suona la trombetta... Più piano come in un sospir, fra breve non si sente più, ma al bruno alpin par d'udir, la campanella sua di laggiù... ma al di la di questo, una sola parola: MERAVIGLIOSA :) grazie per questo e tanti altri gioelli!

Thank you. I've been out of the country so I haven't responded. Massimo has very kindly shared some information with me. By the way, this evening I was able to record "Bolero" (Durand-Pinchi-Contet) and "Qui, Sotto Il Cielo di Capri." The recordings have some hisses and pops, but I will be happy to send the MP3 or WAV files to you and Massimo.

I've loved Meme Bianchi's voice since I bought a 78 of "Amor" 35 years ago. Yet except for "You Tube", I can find very little of her music and even less about her. I know she began singing in the 1930s, was a major singer in the 1940s and into the 1950s, Is there anything else I can learn about her. Other than the classics, does Italy not have information about its rich musical history and singers?
