@Ayoube O. Chikorita is also good in itself. It's the only starter you get at that time without trade which can tank Milktank. It is good against whole Misty's team, Brock's team, Chuck's Poliwrath, Pryce's whole team, Red's Blastoise (Also Lapras if HGSS) and also a good team member if used correctly, which we (Especially, I) can't do easily
