Also the issue is not speed of calculations, but storing the tablebase for 32 pieces. 7 piece tablebase takes 8.5 TB of space. 6 piece takes something like 60 GB. 3-4-5 piece combined is 350 MB. The jumps in storage space required grow exponentially with more and more pieces.

There are more possible combinations of chess games than there are atoms in the known universe, and by a huge amount. (Estimated between 10^78 and 10^82 atoms in the universe vs estimated between 10^111 and 10^123 possible move combinations in chess.) It's not feasible for a computer anywhere near what we have today to be able to calculate every possible combination. It's a number so big we don't even know how big it is yet.

That is one of the ways, another way the engine could calculate a brilliant move is when the engine gives up evaluation of a move after a few moves, and then once played the engine is forced to calculate it, if it turns out its better than the engine's top choice, then it's considered brilliant

Not that hard to achieve 'brilliant' moves. I've had 2 in the last few days of playing, 1 where I lost afterwards because I didn't make the most of it and 1 where it was a fairly obvious move to play to a human. I'm a mid 1300's player.

The easiest way to get a brilliant move is to just play the Stafford and wait for someone to fall into the e5 Ne4 d3 Bc5 trap after the main position. It's a well known trap, but it still marks Bc5 it as brilliant every time.

For anyone wondering why white didn’t take the black rook on A5 it was because if the black rook wasn’t on the 2nd file white had mate in 3: queen takes knight on G2, king forced to take the queen on G2, knight to H4 checking the king forcing him back into H1, pawn to G2 checkmate. Would’ve got a queen sacrifice pawn checkmate after making two brilliant moves. Edit for grammar

But if your comment was out of genuine frustration, in simpler terms, if white rook captures black rook, then black queen takes white knight and puts white king in check. White king captures black queen. The lower of the two black knights puts white king in check, and the king has only one square to go to-back to the square where it was before it captured the black queen-and after that, black pushes its top-most pawn one step forward to checkmate the white king. The pawn is protected by the knight which black moved in the previous step, and so cannot be captured by the white king.
