These jokes were inevitable much like their deaths. They signed that waiver knowing they were risking death. That being said, I’ve seen too many people not only make jokes (which is imo fine, people make jokes about tragedy all the time), but actively celebrating their deaths. Specifically because they’re billionaires. Which is ridiculous and awful and not doing what they think it is.

That's a fancy way of saying that you lack empathy as a human being. It doesn't matter that people laugh at stupid deaths and always have. Indeed, there have always been emotionally immature, poorly raised, and brain dead people throughout history but that doesn't make it ok. Not at all. Yes, their ways of death could of been avoided but that's still a terrible way go out. Especially for elderly people. Or really for someone of any age not just 19 either. Rock climbers, firefighters, police officers, boxers, car racers, construction workers, marines, jetfighters, and a slew of other people know what they're getting into but that doesn't mean they don't deserve sympathy should something unfortunate befall them. Personally, I DAMN SURE wouldn't of gotten on that submarine or be in any type of similar situation but the blatant disregard for human life is disgusting still.
