Being able to ripple/riffle shuffle is one of my big things with a deck. I really wish tarot decks were a bit smaller (small hands here) and used softer matte cardstock more often. And before someone yells about longevity I'm still playing solitaire with a deck of cheap playing cards from the 80s, a tarot deck gets treated way more gently and used less, trust me they'd be FINE.

Your comments about finding that you have finally begun to resonate with particular decks was really helpful for me. I just purchased a deck and I was having a visceral negative response to some imagery, but at first glance, the accompanying book helped me not package it back up and send it back immediately! I absolutely love both decks from Kim Krans. The wild unknown tarot and the Animal Spirit oracle were staples all year for me. As well as the earthbound oracle!

The Witches Witches Tarot is one of my favourite decks. I trimmed the titles off and wrote the titles on because I'm not keen on large decksand edged it in yellow. I'd love a pocket version of it

I have Lucy Cavendish/Jasmine Beckett-Griffith Alice in Wonderland and Fairytale Oracle Decks and love them. I also wasn't sure about the artwork, but have found they are wonderful.

Forhaxa is def my favorite, love working with it, reads great 💖 I really thought I'd prefer to have a women only deck, but it turns out I'd struggle a little bit with the court cards all being female

There are a few decks here that I've been really tempted to get! I have the Ad Orbita which I think is very beautiful but I am planning to rehome soon as it is too minimalist for me to get along with and I also have Les Vampires which I plan to work with over the next few months. I got A LOT of new decks this year (pandemic comfort purchasing anyone?) and I'm going to spend the first part of the new year really getting to know them, edging a few decks, doing some deck interviews and reading guidebooks x I really enjoyed hearing about your surprising decks of 2021! Wonderful choices here! I love the Ostara Tarot, I wish it would get a revival of sorts. I’m so on the fence with the Mermaid Tarot, I thought the same thing about it being the “Little Mermaid” deck so it’s interesting to hear about the depth it has. I’ve also been looking into JBG decks, I’m not sure if I’ll end up getting any but this Les Vampire one looks really cool!

I love the Les Vampire Deck, and always have good readings with it and also use it during other seasons and different times of the year. That's the thing I love about Les Vampire and Oracle of Light and Shadow also by Lucy Cavedish and Jasmine Beckett- Griffith, you can use them any time of the year. Okay so I can’t tell u my whole like tarot vibe or like my journey or anything, so it’s like hard to tell u how much I get you & connect w/you. I’ve got some of my absolute favorites cuz of u…now this list is cracking me up! Everything u said about Northern Animal tarot is exactly my feels too! I’m honestly not sure I want the 2nd edition. It’s changed quite a bit & I love the cards stock now…smell reminds me of my grade school crayons & crayon boxes…Now to the reason for this tangent! See! I wish I could tell u more lol! But I don’t want to bomb u with an essay. Okay get my ADHD in check… I have been wanting the F word deck(I have to delete all this to check how to spell it lol!) but also the Ink Witch very much. I trust your opinion on this…I want to stop buying for a while. I was gifted being able to buy one for Xmas & I can’t decide. If u could only get one of the 2 & risk possibly not being able to get the other which would you choose? Ugh I hate Indie deck stress! I hope u don’t mind I just busted this out on you! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Let’s do this 2022…I feel it’s gonna be a beautiful year for us!

Oh that's a tough one... The Forhaxa (I'm guessing that's the one you're talking about) I think is a bit deeper and has a bit more complexity to it. The Ink Witch I would consider more of everyday reader, it's solid and reliable. So I think it depends on if you are looking for a deck to go deep with or one to use as a solid everyday-type reader. Not sure if that's helpful or not. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️

I love the Witches Wisdom Tarot but hardly ever pick it up because it's so big and I have small hands which makes it so difficult. I love the idea of trimming it into an oracle!

Loved this format. You've inspired me to try to track the decks I use by month to do a similar round up next year. I think the most memorable decks for me this year were oracle: Through the Eyes of the Soul and Goddess Love, both the ones i got in Glastonbury and used for 4 months straight. I've still to film my top decks of 2021 though!

Great decks! I put the Ostara Tarot on my wishlist. The Forhaxa is sold out, but I will definitely get it if more come in. One of my favorites for the year is The Tarot of Mystical Moments. My surprise fave is The Moonchild Tarot. I think that deck chose me.

Hearing you describe the 10 of swords in the Ostara deck absolutely clicked and made sense for me. I literally have the guidebook in my lap as I'm watching this (synchronicity has been constant of late.) Do you happen to have a playlist or any suggestions for any that explain each card (in general, it doesn't have to be the Ostara, that's just the one I'm focusing on today.) I started my tarot journey several years ago, tried taking in WAY too much information at once (numerology, astrology, Hebrew alphabet, kabbalah, etc...) and didn't learn a thing. Haha! Nothing stuck because I wasn't focused on one thing. I only just started learning again in a COMPLETELY different way last month. I started with focusing on intuition first, then book meanings. It definitely helped. It's starting to FINALLY make some sense, but there are definitely some that I still could use a fresh take on, so if that's something that you've already done, or if not, then have a suggestion of someone who has that also has similar views as you, I would LOVE the opportunity to learn more, thanks. ❤️

I enjoyed this video a lot. I am not sure if you talked about your monthly practice but it fascinates me that you work with multiple decks a month .. I’d like to know more :) The mermaid tarot caught my eyes the moment I saw it .. The hanged man was very interesting but then we saw some more cards and I knew it was cleverly made. Glad to hear you enjoyed it The ink witch tarot is a big question mark in my shopping cart. I might regret not ordering it but yea .. it’s gorgeous The healing wave is a deck I missed and I feel sad I missed it but I am waiting for the ocean tarot reviews .. I always heard good things about lucy and Jasmine’s decks because I know Owlmoon (Telula) and she swears by these decks .. however, I don’t like the art and I kept away because of that. What made you pick the one you did? Also .. I backed the Northern animal tarot so I am so excited to receive it. It reminds me of all the storybooks I owned growing up .. I bought it for that reason. It’s my first Kickstarter since 2019 .. and I can’t wait to work with it

I think I have a playlist with some videos about my practice that you might find interesting. I ended up choosing the JBG deck I did because I watched many walkthroughs on all of them them and the Vampire one have the most cards that I liked. I love the northen Animal tarot - I just Cant handle it. The size combined with the thin cardstock makes me scared Ill ruin it. Also something about the way it smells puts me off. I hope there’ll be a smaller version at some point.

I know what you mean about the smell, I set mine put for a few days and let it air out when it arrived. It helped ease the ink/printing smell. So far mine is holding up really well. A smaller version would be awesome! I'd buy that for sure. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
