Memoria Press Literature Guide 2nd Grade

My 2nd grader is on the 2nd book in the Tales of Beatrix Potter guide right now. It's going well. It's really stretching her. My 10yr is working through A Cricket in Time Square.

Thank you so much for the thorough flip through! My daughter is going to the second grade this coming school year. She didn't learn how to read with any formal program. I basically taught her just by reading a lot. She's an extremely good reader and has been reading chapter books for awhile. But I want to keep her at the 2nd grade level for next year. I like that Memoria Press covers phonics in the literary guide because my hope is that will help with formalizing and providing the rationale for why words are read they by referencing classical phonics. Did you teach your daughter how to read through a formal phonics program and thus didn't find the need to do too much of the phonics activities found in the literary guides? Thank you 😊.

Thank you for the flip through and review! Would you recommend doing all of these literature guides because the skills build on each other or do you think it’s okay to just do, say Beatrix Potter and Courage?

You can do individual ones if your child is at that reading level!
