Very informative video. My husband and I love Cuba and we have been to Cayo Coco and loved it. We stayed at the Sol Cayo Coco, which we were really happy with. Our 20th anniversary is coming up this fall and we are thinking of Memories Caribe for the adults only. We would go with an open mind. We definitely go to Cuba for the beaches and the staff. Will watch all your Memories Caribe videos.

We didn't stroll down to the beach till at least 10:00 a.m. most days and had no problem getting a palapa in the diamond section.

Another great video. You speak of the bugs at this resort. And there is another guy from a few years back that mentioned the same thing with videos of his bitten legs by sand fleas by the beach and pool and even indoor bar (I video that still haunts my every night. lol) Anyways I stayed at a resort in Varaderoand while walking the resort was bitten tons but only at dawn and dusk. Cayo Santa Maria three visits and never an issue. Did you find this resort location to be much worse than other Cuban locations for bug bites? Thanks

@brumalerie Based on our experience they are substantially worse at dusk and dawn and mostly at the beach and lake. We used Natrapel in the morning before we left the room and reapplied it a couple times during the day then made sure we hit it again about an hour before the sun starts to set on the beach. We saw the same thing when we were in Varadero, It wasn't any worse than Varadero and quite honestly with the Natrapel, we weren't bothered much by them at all. Karen is allergic to the sand fleas bites so we would have really noticed it on her. Cheers

How is the walking distance to everything ?

Other than hotels there wasn't too much around the resort or that area for that much. We used the hop on hop off bus to go to the market and Playa Pillar and took a cab to Lenny's for Lobster. The bus was $5 usd but we saw multiple people pay $5 cdn cash. It would be a long walk but you could walk down to memories flamenco where they have a small market but you can't go in there and use the facilities like you used to be able to before covid. Your wristband is unique to the hotel you're staying at now. At least that's what the front desk told us. Thanks for watching!

@@beachbumbling Sunwing used to fly out of Toronto and directly on the island. We'd stay at Memories. The island is on its own only for tourists. It's 70km off the coast of Cuba. Very short drive to any resort on the island. I recently went online to book a holiday for 2015. The island is on the list I called Sunwing. The lady suggested I check back in September.

How are you bringing bacon? Meat products are forbidden to bring into Cuba (and most other countries)

@jennettebleskie137 Hi. I put it back in my carryon. It was an unopened package of pre-cooked bacon (not hidden or anything like that) They don't seem to care about jerky at all and it is also cooked meat. If they had taken it, I would have been fine with that. But since they didn't, as a result breakfast was that much better. 😃 Thanks for watching!

@beachbumbling most of the people working there were quite nice. But some stole from us, so that kind of soured me a little . Once we put everything back in our suitcases and kept them locked, it stopped the items from disappearing. Also, we were on the ground floor, and if we left anything out overnight, it was gone in the morning. Lessons learned.
