It's sad you lost 2 of your old pals pretty early. You guys had special times together. I'm 70 and still hang with 3 guys I went to kindergarten up trough college with in the L.A. area!! I'm lucky as can be! Keep on rockin Mazzy!!

Of similar vintage and feel fortunate to still be in touch with friends I've known since I was 11, although, sadly, we lost one of our group a couple of years ago. Enjoy Norman's videos.

Love the story and the tune. Garage rock indeed. “I don’t care if you poison my food!” Wtf? 😊I have one year on you, Mazzy and am very lucky to still hang out with my music-and-mischief buddy from 1965. Still swapping tunes and talking trash.

Thanks for this Mazzy. Always interesting to find out what your were like in your younger days. I was 21 in 1970 beginning my first year of university in the fall. I have to confess I got into a lot of difficult embarrassing situations in those days. Thanks for sharing. We survivors are burdened to carry the memory of the deaths of well loved friends.

we are the same age, one day we went over to my friend Steves house, He just got Sgt Pepper and wanted to try some grass.Well, we had no idea where to buy weed, but we tried! anyway, we got there and handed a bag of "weed" to steve, He smoked half a bag and was so stoned. We didnt even know how to roll a joint! Everything was great. except for one thing, it was oregano. We bought oregano from a neighborhood kid.. He caught on when his mother yelled down to us.."who's cooking down there" we smelled of an Italian kitchen hahahaha... unfortunately Steve isn't with us anymore, but we laughed about that for years and years.great memories there Mazzy

This reminds me of some pranks me and friends pulled when I was growing up. It was really funny at the time and it would give you those tingling feelings in your arms and body from the anticipation of just knowing that it was a joke but the other person wasn't in on it yet :-) I'm guessing you're about a decade to maybe 15 years older than me Mazzy (I was born in 67), but it's fun to hear stories like this and think back to the crazy and funny stuff we did too in my youth. That's an interesting story of a pretty funny prank. I like your narrative style, so I enjoyed the video. That song is quite good for a bunch of 12 year old kids, and I see what you mean about it being "punk." Put just a little more edge on it, and sing it with an "in your face" attitude, and it would be punk rock!

Do you have nostalgia about the 70's? I'm always surprised people do as I generally think the 70's, at least until 1977 or so, kinda sucked. One of the reasons I'm a very limited fan of the Lemon Twigs.

@@mazzysmusic Just kidding about the singer. When I was in college I had 2 professors I was friends with. Bilal from Pakistan and Jeffers who was Jewish. Jeff helped me get into graduate school. Now for the prank: I'd been away for at least 10 years and went back to pay a visit. I saw Bilal first and he took me to Jeff's office and introduced me as his friend from Pakistan. Bilal kind of pranked me and Jeff. :)
