Ron many thanks for bringing back happy memories, looking at the area the railway covered then to what there is today is amazing but such a sham all the lines and those wonderful semaphore signals are no more

A real treasure trove on this one Roy. So much interesting stuff. A great selection of DMU formations - never realised the 110s worked through Spalding, or maybe that was a tulip special? And I never saw a Class 110/105 in multiple before. And a 3x2 car Class 150 pretty rare as well. And the Class 100 Directors saloon....! Great shots of the breakdown train, and the 56's were looking and sounding great. Loved all the sounds as well, particularly the 31 creaking over the pointwork. Thanks yet again Roy for sharing your wonderful archive material. Vivian.

Great footage, thanks for filming the rolling stock in the sidings during the track rationalisation. So many films from these times only feature locos, modellers have little record of freight train formations to work from. Thanks !

Another great Spalding comp Roy. Wonder what the railways around Lincolnshire would have been like today without as many cuts!

Another Great video Roy, what Great memories, I worked on the joint line in 1979 alas gone in this video towards March. It's hard to believe that they built houses on those brick pits where those fly ash trains were heading for. Do you know of any footage of the Peterborough to Oundle and Northampton line, a few years ago I approached the archives man at the NVR and found him very unhelpful and he didn't seem to want to give me any information. Again Roy thank you for the memories in your video's.

Glad you enjoyed it Paul, sorry I have nothing of the Peterborough - Northampton Line in the old days, plenty of NVR from 1980 to present.

I really enjoyed this one, Roy. I also liked the March to Spalding video (1992) that you uploaded. I wondered if you had any photos or footage of the line that used to be on the embankment at the Hawthorn Bank end. I have only seen two photos that show it in the background and an old map. Thanks, Dan

Doesn’t that 31 at 1.58 mins in sound awesome? English Electric engines sound so beautiful, I don't understand their detractors at all - sure they're under powered and overweight, but they sound and look marvellous!
