I came from Tiktok here... I had to hear the full version. In less than a 7 months, I've lost my grandmother, 2 of my close friends, and my dog i raised from a pup. I also got the news that my dad has lung cancer. I just lost a close friend 2 days ago... Maybe with all this loss/pain lately, I'm a bit more emotional, but gosh this song hits home... brought ears to my eye and now i have it on repeat.

My Uncle passed away from lung cancer nearly 5 years ago and this song instantly made me think of him. I lost my father in January of 2022. His death anniversary is on the 11th of this month. He was my closest friend and partner in crime. We would sing and dance like no one was watching, built many projects together, go fishing with his mom, paint together, and more. I am a paraplegic. I had a freak accident when I was 16 in 2020. I was left with no lower mobility and with chronic pain. I was slowly giving up on life and I had no way of fixing the pain I felt physically and mentally. I neglected myself and stopped trying to live, I was just alive for the sake of those around me. He tried to motivate me to have hope that I could still be whoever I wanted to be and that I still had a chance at life. I neglected myself. I didn’t brush my hair at all to the point where it was all just one huge knot on the top of my head. I was just going to shave my head but he spent hours carefully brushing the tangles out so I could keep my hair. I vowed never to cut my hair in honor of him. He was a father of seven and I am the second oldest. Six of which were girls. He was my stepfather who started raising me when he was 27. I was adopted by my mother and with my adoptive father willingly out of the picture, my stepfather took on the role of father figure. I miss him every day and wish he could see that I gave life another chance. I am making progress and learning to love myself with my flaws and new way of life. I wonder if he would be proud of me. I truly wonder how he is doing. He had a heart attack at the age of 41. This song truly made me miss him and think about how much I wish he could see me now. R.I.P dad, I love you. 💔🥺
