Learning morse code by any visual method is completely worthless. You won't be able to understand the code at a speed above 2 letters per minute. Who can ever remember these drawings? Total nonsense. Learn the code by LISTENING to it, by the sound, by the rythm and practise every day. One new character each day.

This is the best way how to learn the code in a WRONG way and have problems in receiving even in relatively slow pace. During receiving ANALYSIS should be switched off completely, while you are teaching exactly opposite trying to EXPLAIN the code ANALYTICALLY. Dont get me wrong, it is not to depreciate your sharing, this is to warn others not to learn any analytical way.
@GyaneshwaranG7 жыл бұрын
The idea is to first memorize the morse code so that you can recall it without looking at any chart. Then, you need to keep recalling it frequently and start using it all the time. After a few days of constant recall, the morse code will go into your long term memory, and you would no longer have to recall it consciously by thinking 'analytically'. So the 'analytical' thinking stage of recall is like a scaffoding or crutch to help you reach the final stage of unconscious recall where you don't need the scaffolding or crutches anymore. It's like learning to type or to drive or to cycle or to swim. With prolonged use, all these skills become stored in the body memory and become unconscious memory so that the recall is instantantaneous.

Nonsense, morse code is about music
@guwu40917 жыл бұрын
Completely agree. Don't follow this guy. You better follow the Koch method.
@danlundwall32526 жыл бұрын
Learning morse code as taught by this fellow will certainly work.... but only in memorizing the "letters of a word". It is not how we learned language as a child. It is all done by sounds.... The Koch method is a method of learning morse code for the purpose of "conversation" and not by learning the letters of a word. In other words, it has been shown that by learning morse code by sounds you don't have to stop and translate the dits and dah's into letters, then group the letters into words. That's not how you learned your native tongue and that's not how to most effectively teach morse code for conversation. I appreciate your efforts in helping people learn the code though. 73's.
@АндрейДенисюк-ш7п4 жыл бұрын
If your goal is to send only, then OK. Easy but useless. If you gonna receive morse DON'T GO THIS WAY!!! Forget it and never recall. Visual dots and dashes would be your anchor. You have to learn receiving by hearing first, feel the rythm, music. And only after that proceed to sending.
