I have this pattern. I made 8 memory bears from my late husbands shirts for my 8 children. I cut all the shirts up and patchworked then together to make larger fabrics. I used a plain fabric for all of the backs. As he was from Ireland, I machine embroidered a shamrock on one leg of each bear and embroidered the word Dad on the fronts. I made a practice bear for me first out of a fabric from my stash as I’d never ever made bears before.

Thank you for walking us through this process. My condolences on the loss of your mom. I am blessed to still have my 90 year old mom but I wish I had of saved one of my dads shirts. I have had this pattern forever and will maybe do what you did and make one before I tackle it with an important piece of fabric . My mom also is very small so this tutorial that you did will come in very handy. God Bless

God Bless You! I pray you have lots more time with your Mom. Enjoy every minute and I know you will. I do have a few of my Dad's flannel shirts but I wear them in the Winter so I really don't want to cut them up. It was hard enough cutting up Mom's shirt but I knew I couldn't wear it because of the size. Blessings! ❤

She is beautiful. Thank you for going through the pattern so gracefully. I can't read patterns and was at my wits end as to how I was going to get this together for my sister. It's my mother's house coat. Thanka again.

You are so welcome. Patterns are a challenge for me as well. Your sister will love it. You got this. Blessings!

@@JunkGal63what is the stitch called that you used to sew up the back?
@JunkGal63Ай бұрын
@sheilawhidby7626 It is called a ladder stitch. Here is a great tutorial from Whitney Sews: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4qsgH-Oo6elmrMsi=pFQOOmJyBYheBa8y

Very special I’m thinking of a bear from baby clothes I’m just trying to to figure that one out
@JunkGal637 ай бұрын
That would be so special. What if you cut up what you have in 2 to 3 inch squares. Use those pieces to make quilt blocks. Then cut out the pieces from the pattern? If you need to fill in because you don't have enough pieces, you could use pink or blue quilting fabric. Thank you for watching. Have a blessed day.
