Not only was I on the edge of my seat in the low save but also weight shifting to help you round the thermaling turns. Riveting - thanks for posting Tim!

Great climb out in difficult conditions from Westbry, quite off the hill. Great low save north of Dorchester. Another amazing video, with great picture and sound, thanks

Awesome video Tim.... Had been waiting for this one since you gave us a sneak peek at the low save... Even better that you managed to reach your old street and show us too... I did wonder if any of your old neighbours were still there.... And how cool was those pottery name plates that your mum made, loved them, and so nice that they're still there. Thanks for your efforts and the upload. Enjoy ya coffee ;-)

Thanks for the coffee/ice cream Mitch, much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻 There are still some people I remember nearby, just not in the immediate vicinity, and there are quite a few more of my mum’s pottery nameplates dotted around the village…

Hi Tim firstly great video! However, can I ask why you mix imperial height measures with metric distance?
@TimPentreath3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and yes, it’s confusing for non-Brits - it’s just how we do it. When I’m flying in the Alps I stick to metric for everything, but in the UK (where we don’t get so high), Imperial sounds better 😂 Plus airspace is measured in feet.

It's great how you always advertise our sport well after landing. I like to do it myself, but I don't dare to film it. 😅

Hi Tim, seems like a fairly windy and turbulent day, just wondering how often are you using speed bar and how much do you usually use in conditions like that? Thanks for yet another enjoyable video.
@TimPentreath3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Brett. Yes, you're right, it was windy and quite broken and turbulent at times. On downwind XCs I tend to only use any bar when the sink gets worse than -2m/s, and then probably only half bar, unless it gets to -3 say when I'll use full bar. Sometimes it can be better to alter course by as much as 45º if you encounter strong sink, rather than pushing through it, though if you think that it's the sink that precedes a thermal then I wouldn't alter course...
