Lecce was a delightful place to visit. The architecture, winding streets, outstanding food and night time vibe made it a great end to our 10 days in Puglia. If you have not seen the others in the series, you can see them all now, in order on our Puglia playlist. kzbin.info/aero/PL7ZS1Ml0SItTHNbyld34_vflMBqJBEYsr We hope you have enjoyed this series and it's given you lots of ideas for a trip to Southern Italy.

❤🎉In Puglia, the foods are truly one of the best; fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, and many more. The history, the place itself, is incredibly wow! Unforgettably wonderful experience my eating there in different places of Puglia. One was in Lecce.

I have friends in Lecce and have visited the city many times over the years but each time it's just like I'm visiting for the for first time time. While you're in Lecce a trip out to coast is a good idea only 10 mins away and there's some fantastic fish restaurants there.

Greetings from USA. In May of 2020 myself and my wife were supposed to start our tour of Solento in Lecce. COVID put a stop to that! Know that it’s over we will be heading out on August 27th. Great video! We found it very helpful. Loved the hotel, it was where we were booked in 2020. Unfortunately it’s unavailable this year. Thanks for the tips and thanks again for the video.

Nice video on the beautiful city of Lecce❤️ I highly recommend visiting Lecce by night as the light and the atmosphere is special. PS : Lecce is not the capital of Puglia... but the capital of the sub-region "Salento". The capital of Puglia is Bari😉

Yes indeed someone else corrected me on Bari being the Capital. Silly mistake!

Only found your channel recently and do like the way you both present your videos. The commentary is very informative and your style of filming is easy to watch. The town of Lecce looks like one not to miss, especially if you can stay in the hotel where you did. Bellissimo!!!! We have visited Italy twice, from Australia, but unfortunately never had the time to visit the deep south. Have subscribed so keep up your good work, thanks.

The people are so friendly and the food in excellent. I hope you do make it to the region and can enjoy what we did. Best regards.

I'm finally planning to travel again and have always wanted to go to Puglia, so I've enjoyed many of your videos very much, thank you. I do have a few questions that I hope you can help me with. I will be arriving into Rome, then planning to get to the east coast by public transportation -- probably fly directly to either Bari or Brindisi and use one of those as a home base. I won't be renting a car as I am traveling solo and don't want to deal with one. I plan to stay in hotels, not B&B's for the same reason. So I'm hoping that public transportation will work out well. I'll stick to the east coastline. I have 15 days for sightseeing. Would like to see Lecce and Otranto, Monopoli, maybe Train, Grottaglie and Vieste if possible. I'd like to settle into one town for 3-4 days and do day trips from there. It seems that Bari &/or Brindisi or Lecce make the most sense as a home base -- do you agree? Then fly back to Rome from ? I really really appreciate your input --- thanks so much for all of your fun and interesting videos -- giving printed info on the screen is especially helpful!
@MemorySeekers2 жыл бұрын
Hello, as you know we used a rental car mostly for our travels. The trains seemed to work well and pretty cheap. We only used the train between Monopoli and Polignano. I believe they have buses too. I would Leece could be a good base just because without a car it’s easy to get around and lots to see. We never stayed in Brindisi or Bari so cannot say how good they would be. One thing you could do is find a place you want to stay then before booking message them and ask about trips etc from there. I am sure they can give you advise. Flying in from Rome either airport is good, I guess it depends on price and flight times that suit you. Brindisi would be my preference as it’s right in the middle. Hope that helps. Have fun!
@jo-annh.olmstead41682 жыл бұрын
@@MemorySeekers Thanks for your prompt reply. Am getting a bit more info and making some headway each day. The planning is generally part of the fun of the trip! I'm rethinking the trip and may now stay in Monopoli for half the time and Lecce the other half and take day trips from there. I'll check out your videos again on Bari and Brindisi -- may only fly into Brindisi and not stay too long. I see that you've done a lot of videos on the UK -- maybe that and Greece (my first love) will be revisited soon! Thanks again for your generous spirit.

Dear Memory Seeker, grammar is one of my pet things. There is no “al” on the end of historic used in the context historic centre. Hope I haven’t offended, you are not the only people who do it. Cheers from Australia.

Nice informative video except for the "Wine Tasting" bit. The locals depend on tourism for their bread and butter and if you give such advice, there'll be no more wine shops left. Another thing, please find out and say the exact name of the food that you eat. Saying something like wierd shaped pasta etc. is a lame comment. The least you could do in a travel video is provide the EXACT information for the viewers. I can't exactly ask for a wierd shaped pasta there, can I?
